All Things Video Games & Game Reviews

Hey guys...
Thought we could use a thread to help one another out with purchasing new and used games. Now that the next gen consoles are out and the holiday season will soon be upon us, many new games are going to drop. We've been throwing 'reviews' in several different threads or making new threads for each game. I thought we might like to converge and discuss them as a whole. Whether you're on PS3, 360, PS4, XB one or even a wii, PC and Mac, this is a repository for what you're playing and how you rate it.

Let's try to do a 1-10 scale for each game. Take into account the following:

Storyline
Challenge
Replayability
Graphics
Online functionality
Downloadable content
AI/npc's
Price
Length of gameplay

You can use all or some of those as a guide to score the game. If there are other aspects you'd like to tell as about with your game, please do so. These are just suggentions.

Please note what system, (if necessary i.e. It being exclusive to a system) you're playing on and let us know what you think.

1. Sucks, I'd rather watch Brodie Croyle play as our starter. This game is dogshit.
2. Don't waste your time. It's obviously been programmed by a bunch of chimps with syphilis.
3. I'd rather eat tapioca pudding out of my grandmothers colostomy bag, then stick my tongue in her stoma.
4. Meh, there's really better stuff to do, (like waxing my pubes) but I was lazy.
5. This is kinda like purgatory. It's not the best place to be but it could be worse.
6. Not bad at all... It's like I just scored a BJ from my hot first cousin.
7. Entertaining as all hell, kinda like the feeling where you just drank enough not to puke and can still walk.
8. Buy this game, I'm super-cereal. It's got stuff that makes my nipples tingly.
9. HELL F'ing YEAH! I'd talk more about it but I'm gonna be locked in place for a week just playing this ****er.
10. This game is like godfather two and the empire strikes back joined forces to **** your face off with wow. I'm taking all of my PTO days and going on FMLA.

EDIT: We can also discuss upcoming/all things gaming in here as well.
Enjoy!

Is Farcry 3 any good? I heard 4 is basically 3.5, so for 9 bucks that its on sale might be a good time to try it.

I dunno. 4 is great so if 3 is anything like it, give it a shot.

It's cod with halo jumping.

And the weapons suck so far
Maps have no flow.

Ass

Oh shit... Look out man! Fanbois all over the place will start coming after you with pitchforks and shit to defend their stupid ****ing purchase.

COD needs to go the **** away for two years and really put some effort into their shit. The campaigns used to be so great. 10+ hours of very good gameplay. Now? **** it, throw Kevin Spacey in there and do a bunch of QTE's. We need to get the ****ing thing out. JETPACKS!!! FUKYA

Meh.

I've owned every chapter since COD4:MW (Which IMO is the best one) and with each game (except ghosts) I could level up in MP pretty quickly and be competitive.

Ghosts was just too monochromatic and the devices were confusing. I think I only played 2 hours of MP and ditched it.

Really trying to give this one an honest try but the jumping shit is just clunky and vertigo-inducing to me. And the maps are just hub and spoke circles where you spawn and there's immediately an enemy walking up behind you or to the side half the time.

I never played Destiny. Maybe I'll give that on a try once I get my PS4 set up.

If you like endless running and gunning without any strategy, ya... COD is for you. At least on MW1 & 2, there was a little strategy required in MP.

I've heard the same could be said about Destiny but from what I've seen, it does take a little strategy and at least there's a common goal and not each man for himself.

Yeah I think my biggest drawback is I am a good strategist (good at knowing where the enemy is going to be, especially once I learn the maps) but I am shitty at aiming with a dual stick controller. Always have been. Often I get the drop on a guy and he head shots me before I can put enough lead into him. I don;t like the way the weapon obscures so much of the bottom of the screen, so I think I walk/run with it sighted down, so I have to move it that much further up and usually start shooting too early and shoot the legs, etc.

god, this jogged my memory and reminded my how much i LOVED Battlefield 3. holy shit I played that game for days on end. I finally soured after a good 6-8 months of it when hackers were rampant and took a break. but never got back into it. I think I still have it, I might need to fire it up. it was my first MP experience, though I never became truly awesome at a FPS.

man, when you get on a team that actually understands the entire concept of the game, it's magical; pure awesome. completely out-weighs the matches where your entire team run and guns / scatters, and is only worried about k/d.

I remember one weekend we were either snowed in, or it was so brutally cold outside there was nothing to do but stay indoors. I ended up playing it for about 18 hours straight. randomly got onto a team that 'got it'. after a few matches, I got some friend requests from dudes on that team. That day, we stayed on the same team for probably 10 hours and it was incredible. Subsequent weeks were great as i would get an invite to matches from them when they would see i was online.

god damn I loved that game lol. i loved playing a particular class how it should be played. Support was my favorite.

Advanced Warfare reminded me of how great Titanfall played. It's the superior game when it comes to level traversal and tightness of the gunplay. If only it had more content. Been seeing it for 5 bucks on PC which is a steal.

I really enjoyed Farcry 3. Definitely worth the 9 bucks, in my opinion. Wait for the steam winter sale in a few weeks and you can probably get it even less than 9 bucks.
