Go on Record: Predict the Punishment for Deflategate

So we've all talked about what we think the punishment will be for Deflategate. What do you think WILL be the punishment? Will the Kraft/Goodell relationship come to fruition? Will the be pounded as multiple offenders? Will they get the Saints treatment?

My official prediction: Brady gets a $500,000 fine. Belichick gets $250,000. Loss of a fifth round draft pick for the organization.

The fumble numbers end them. Something has to be done to these frauds....and no it hasn't been "debunked". Debunking doesn't mean a bunch of spin from drooling Patriotards.

It could be a stressing only RBs that protect the ball. Numbers and chance isn't a law that is being altered. It's probability.

The odds would of also said 1% chance Alex Smith INTs would go from 53 1st half of a career to 23 the 2nd half.

What is a little strange is BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Always had that factoid of never fumbled in 500 runs with NE.

Goes to CINCI and 5 fumbled in 500 runs.

It doesn't seem like a small PSI adjust could do that. It's probably mostly about the newer sticky gloves and not letting weak ball security slide.

And anytime you hit Brady it is a penalty so his potential fumbles don't count.

Exactly....never fumbled in NE then goes to another team and miraculously starts fumbling. The NFL even states that deflated balls are easier to hang on to...in its rules. It's one of the reasons its monitored ...The NE ballboy had to hide in the bathroom to avoid detection.

Every team stresses protecting the ball...do you really think Belichick has uncorked some magic technique that other teams are too dim to duplicate? It's not just one season either...it's a culmination of 6 seasons. If it happened once...then it's probability...when it repeats itself year after year it becomes something else.

It's not just about the RB's either.

deflated balls are easier to hold on to

QB fumbles less on strip/sacks
WR catch the ball better
WR don't fumble after the catch as much

How many people say that 'winning the turnover battle' is key to winning in the NFL?

welp, deflated footballs help New England win that battle.

I think Pats lose a draft pick (possibly 2) and get nailed w/ a hefty fine. You'd think this team would learn from spygate. Well, now they're a prior offender so the penalty should be much more harsh IMO. BUT...

I don't think Tom Brady will get any kind of meaningful suspension because he's a money generator/league baby face, like Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson etc. NFL has ratings and money to make, and they're not going to to let one of their cash cows sit on the bench. If this was Alex Smith...we'd be talking a 4-game suspension, at least. I'd be really surprised if Brady is suspended for more than 1 game.
