LJ is tearing up the Cowboys and he decides to throw the ball twice in a row when the Cowboys would have used timeouts to stop the clock?

I don't care about how many yards this offense has put up, his desire to be too cute is the reason he should never be the HC of this team.

It is not how much he runs the ball, but when he doesn't run the ball. Lately our offense has been stagnate in the red-zone, and a lot of that has to do with Green being ineffective in the passing game. However, LJ has been scoring in the red-zone. Give him the ball.

I said the same thing when Priest was healthy. Quit being cute, and do what we do best. Especially with Roaf back.

I'm not persay saying that, alot of people on here want to run the ball more in general. I'm just pointing out that he's on a pace that would break records. Giving a player that many touches will shorten his career.....

If we continue to use him this much at this rate......he'll turn into what Eddie George did before he's 30. There's a classic case of a back who was overworked and his career ended early.

The Trent Green fumble and the Patrick Surtain drop just killed us. Final score should have been 35 to 17...but you do have to hang this one on the defense and especially Gunther for deciding that he shouldn't blitz Bledsoe. That was just idiotic.

Still upbeat on our chances though. The Chargers loss is just a killer for them and if we win our last two games we will be in the playoffs. San Diego is going to end up 9-7 and the Steelers won't be able to top our conference record of 9-3 for the tie-breaker.

But a win yesterday would have really put us in a great position.

the point is winning games and making the playoffs...we'll get another RB when LJ breaks down...I don't give a crap about his career longevity...

It had nothing to do with a defense figuring it out.

There was a minute left, and at worse, the Chiefs should have 3 points from that trip.

I just don't see the reason you throw on first and second down. Why not run on first to take some time off the clock?

Have teams figured out how to slow our running game yet? I would have taken my chances running the ball to end a half.

Yes, it's all about clock management. Vermeil and Co. have consistently made mistakes in that regard. That's one way you can protect your defense, it's astounding DV (or AS) doesn't do a better job at it. There was no reason to score quickly down there.

That's not, and has never been the issue. It's how and when he uses him, not how much.

Yeah, lets criticize and blame the loss on the guy who was able to move the ball up and down the field all day and put 28 points on the road against a tough defense.

I can't wait until KC fans ride Saunders out of town and spend the next few years griping about dozens of plays a game when the Chiefs have the 20th ranked offense in the NFL.

Oh, there's plenty of blame to go around for this defense. Believe me, they sucked far worse than any other component of our team.

Exactly. It appears about half of this board must have watched a different game than I did. I guess Saunders can't call the plays, block the rushers, and coordinate and play D all at the same time.

I wouldn't blame the loss on AS. Criticizing some of his play calling, or more specifically the team's clock management, isn't the same as throwing him under the bus and blaming the loss just on that. It contributed to the loss, as did many other things.

I'm not blaming the loss on Saunders. Just like I'm not blaming the loss on LJ. There was an entire half of football AFTER that fumble in which the defense did 2 things -- jack and shit.

However, the playcalling on that red zone series WAS dumb.
