Chiefs 53 Man Roster Prediction
With the NFL season quickly approaching, I thought it would be a good idea to predict the final 53 players...

If he was eligible to return they would of put him on IR after September 8th. As part of a gms job is to know the deadlines of these things!

There is no IR deadline. March is done until 2016.

Here's the rule:

During each season a club will be permitted to return one player from the Reserve/Injured List to its 53-player Active/Inactive List. Such player must have suffered a major football-related injury (defined as an injury that renders the player physically unable to practice or play football for a period of at least six weeks [42 calendar days] from the date that the injury occurred) after reporting to training camp and must have been placed on Reserve/Injured after 4:00 p.m., New York time, on the Tuesday after the final roster reduction. A player who is eligible to return must be noted as "Designated for Return" at the time the player is placed on Reserve.

I believe they only kept 8 last year. Five starters, one swing tackle and two guys that can play guard and/or center.

I don't think Sherrod makes the team.

True, though I think the IR rule has been "IR and done for the season" for a long time, like even before Goodell. The one player being designated for return only went into effect last season.

I agree. In fact, we've had a few injuries there. That's why I think we'll go into the season a little deeper on the O-Line depth chart.

That early roster spot due to drunken S.Smith is a real luxury this season. Dorsey should be given credit for making the best of bad situation.

My top candidates for that spot are:

1)Reaves
2)Brown,
3)Nunez Roaches
4)Munyer

I think the players making the team Sept.5 and moving to the PS immediately are:

Alexander, Reaves, Pughsley
