I believe this is a sports memorabilia guy that has harassed Brett for his autograph many, many times. For profit.

My favorite memories of GB: Fighting with Nettles after a hard slide at third. Hitting for the cycle. Standing at 2nd with this arms raised when breaking .400 in 1980. Flying into the dugout after a pop foul in the 85 Worlds Series. Hugging Sabes on the mound when they won it all. I went to Cooperstown in 1999 and was there when he was inducted. He Be GB, KC's version of Stan the Man. He's KC's Man.

His homer off Gossage in 1980 was the greatest moment of my sporting fandom. Also, Game 3 of the 1985 ALCS was the most dominant, all-around, single-game performance by a baseball player I've ever seen.

I also was at his induction ceremony. Wish CP had existed back then, would've been great to meet up with you and other posters.

George Brett singlehandedly put us on the map of relevance in baseball, and it pretty much coincides with his retirement that we were back off again.

He's the only real superstar we've had, and I'll always remember driving down with the family from Iowa and watching him play. I was so excited every time he came up to bat and emulated him and his swing as a boy.

George is the best every day player we've had. Saberhagen was phenomenal as a young pitcher. And I think you could say Bo Jackson was a "Superstar" while he played here. If he had only played baseball, he'd be in the HOF now.

George Brett, Tom Watson, Trent Green, and Wil Shields are not only great athletes from our area - they also still call it home.

In fact I ran into Trent Green yesterday afternoon. He was with his son and they were getting into a new jeep and Trent was pointing out some stuff to his kid as his son took the wheel. These guys don't have to live in KC (frankly I'd probably live in Arizona at least half the year) but they do and that's awesome.
