If you really think he is what you say you need to watch all the times he has gotten beat down in one on one match-ups in the past two seasons by the bigger WR's in the NFL. And then then honestly answer why the Chiefs shouldn't be looking for his replacement, hence, Sean Smith.

He makes great breaks to the ball, and our defense is going to (supposedly) be more aggressive.
More aggressive front = more errant throws = Aggressive CB feast |

i dont like the idea of sliding him down to cover the slot
mainly because a) now we dont have any CBs on the roster that can cover the slot besides probably him and b) if he covers the slot, that leaves two burn victims having to cover the outside, rather than just one at CB2 with Flowers at his normal spot at CB1. it's really a double edged sword, damned if you do damned if you dont hes also usually hobbled by injuries and plays half the season hurt, having him go over the middle covering the slot he is more prone to getting lit up by dumb short passes where the o-line can release or a big WR comes across and hits him as hes trying to cover a drag (i.e him covering Welker for a 6 yard dump pass and Decker or Thomas come over and smash him on a pick blindly). Rather than just have him covering deep streaks, posts, etc on the outside. |
