I'm seriously on the fence over this one. Is this from Clancy canon? It doesn't seem like it. And I've generally been disappointed by ghost written continuations of franchises. But they're certainly putting the full court press out in promoting it.

No. It's a complete reboot and an original story.

Too young. Jack Ryan needs to be played by a 40-year old.

Just get Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine in a room and let them duke it out to see who is the REAL JACK RYAN! I'll always be a sucker for Patriot Games and Hunt For Red October.

While Ford is great in the role, Baldwin will always be Ryan to me. I absolutely love Hunt for Red October while the others were just so so.

I liked Sum as well. Didn't really see Afleck as Ryan though.

The book and the movie for "Sum of All Fears" were so vastly different from each other that they seemed to share nothing more than the title.
Clancy's early books were so damn good. "Red October" "Cardinal of the Kremlin" "Red Storm Rising," etc. He will be missed.

Just saw this last night. It was decent. I'd read there were some twists and turns, but I thought it was relatively predictable. Also not a huge fan of Keira Knightly, movie could have been better with another female lead IMO. Chris Pine was credible.
