Thanks for that info; it gives me pause to think.

People new to computer building tend to go cheap on PSUs, which is a big mistake. Your power supply is probably the most crucial single component of any computer build.

Liquid cooling is not a must have. In fact, I'd say most air cooling solutions are better than the all in one liquid cooling solutions offered by Corsair, etc, unless you are willing to drop 150+ on a CPU cooling solution. Liquid cooling is more beneficial to people who like to do extreme overclocking of the CPU and video card. Otherwise, don't bother with it.
All things I did not know. Thanks man.

If you are always waiting for the next big thing that is right around the corner, you will never get a new computer!

Waiting a month (new Intel chips set to release in Jan. 2017) to get a cheaper current gen i5 or i7 isn't really waiting that long.

And AMD's new video card and CPU are coming out soon. You will never find a time where the next big thing isn't right around the corner. Besides, he wont save that much. Maybe 30-50 bucks at the most.

There is always something coming out in a month you could wait on. **** it, pull the trigger.

I just bought all my stuff on Black Friday. Built a hell of a machine for under $1500 excluding my new monitor. Surprisingly my monitor was my most expensive piece in the entire setup. I was not expecting that.

As someone who has been pricing and planning a pc for the last 6 months (I take a long time to buy expensive things. I wasn't ready to buy then, but wanted to have context to what is a good price), I really don't think this whole "always something coming out" is really true, especially when considering we are talking about a entire new generation of processors.

Processor prices are outrageous nowadays since Intel really doesn't have any competition from AMD. AMD should be releasing in Jan as well, which will help push prices down.

If this was 6 months ago, I would agree with you guys, but we are talking about an entire new generation of chip from both companies in one month in a market that Intel currently has kind of cornered.

Plus, I anit waiting to get new technology, the current i5 or i7 will play everything for foreseeable future, so I'm fine getting those. I'm just waiting for those pieces to drop in price.

What did you get? I built my computer in March for about 1300 bucks so I'm set for a while. I did get myself a new monitor though. 27", 144hz, 1440p Freesync monitor. It set me back just under 400 bones but it sho' is purty.

i7 6700k processor
Gigabyte GTX 1070 gaming edition video card
ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO/Whetstone motherboard
32 gb ddr4
2x3TB hard drives
Got my SSD from my other PC
h100i water cooler

ASUS 27" 2k 144Hz with G Sync monitor - the G Sync vs Freesync prices were ridiculous. Only bad part about NVIDIA.

Still waiting on all the parts. I am a little giddy right now.
