Fellow Chiefs fans, do you think it would be a good idea........
IF, the Chiefs went after Assante Samuel? Just brought this up as a discussion. I thought I'd like to start a nice topic here.

I see Samuel wants to hold out? What if other teams contacted the Pats about a possible trade? Can you see that happening since he may hold out till week 10? If you're the Pats maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to trade him and get some decent value for him if they're not going give him the contract he desires?

I wouldn't give up a 1st rounder for the guy, but a 2nd round pick I would consider. Mind you though, these are the Pats were talking about, and they'd probably want a 1st rounder.

I just brought this up because I do like our CBs. Don't get wrong, but, I think we could get younger there, and depth is pretty thin there. What if Law or Surtain get hurt? It's pretty bleak after that. I'd like to think this team could use a CB for the future so I figured a guy like Samuel who imo is one of the best in the game would be a nice solid addition, and could fit the mold of being the CB of the future.

Thoughts?

Samuel's a bad-ass CB, but he would need a stout D-line to have the same impact on another team, IMO. We need to ride this out and get our CBOTF in next year's draft.

Here here...I'd like to have Samuel, but not for the back-breaker price he would be fetching...if we're going to go broke on somebody, it damn well better be LJ.
