I'd tell him to enlist and that with any luck, he may get it shot off, thus saving medical expenses and "protecting America's freedom" at the same time.

If you do it, it's better to do it early and get it done right. If there was medical evidence, and it was fairly obvious, I'd definately be supportive. But, there are also phases that kids go through that can be helped with counseling.

Yeah as someone mentioned above, teenagers go through phases and are plagued by raging hormones that can confuse some kids. If a teenager came to me, I'd tell him to wait it out a few years. If he was in his 20s ( making me real old if he was my son), I'd just tell him nobody could make that decision but him. Finally, if he came home already clipped, I guess I'd just accept it...after a few years.
