How complicated is Reid's offense?
Let me begin by saying, **** Peyton Manning.
Still, I thought this was an interesting read. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/...denver-broncos Basically talks about how Manning's playbook is just a handful of plays run to perfection and not the exhaustive tomes that Al Saunders apparently had. Personally, I preferred the complicated vermeil era chiefs offense, because agan, **** peyton manning, but it is hard to ignore the results. The main argument I can reach for, for not having such a simple offense is that for all of peyton's "greatness" it only won him 1 superbowl. And even that was the year we let him get away with 3 picks, by herm edwardsing our own offense. On the other hand, we're the chiefs - is the superbowl something that comes with ribs? For those that might know, how complicated is Reid's offense? |

I'm an Eagles fan, and a HUGE Andy Reid fan (one of the few ones left here back in Philly). Yes, his offenses tend to be pretty complex. That's one of the reasons that the team traditionally always got better as the season went on. They were always something like 500 in September, 600 in October, 700 in November and 800 in December over his 14 years, give or take. And why, until this year, he was like 13-0 after the bye. When they have time to get it all together, it works really well, but is a bit complex for early in the season, or a short turnaround.
