Getting healthy

Just for fun, I decided to glance at the Chiefs injury report today:

Though there are a ton of guys on the list that are nicked up a bit, it's good to see that we're about as healthy as you can expect a team to be at this point (exempting our two broken TE's that is). Hopefully that's a good sign for tomorrow.

Like it or not, Lewis is the starter. Even though Demps is playing over 50% of the snaps, Sutton really likes Lewis.

Demps has Lewis on speed. Lewis has Demps everywhere else. He takes better angles, and he's better in run support.

Isn't Demps subbing for Berry and Abdullah subbing for Lewis? Am I crazy or did I miss something?

edit: I think on our dime packages, we end up with three safeties simply because Berry is acting as a LB'er/CB hybrid type.

Hell, just make it a stepping-stone scale.

No playoff wins? 5th rounder
Win a playoff game? 4th rounder
Get to AFC Championship game? 3rd rounder
Get to the Super Bowl? 2nd rounder
Win the Super Bowl? 1st rounder

(OK, that would be a bit much probably, but would anyone complain if we dumped a 1st round pick if it means we won the SB?)

The Chiefs play dime 50% of the time.

Berry and Lewis almost never come off the field.

Demps and Abdullah were the nickel/dime, until Cooper took off. Now Demps and Cooper are the nickel/dime, and Abdullah is way, way down on snaps.

Hope to see some 2 TE sets and also use one in motion from time to time. The motion TE can act as a lead blocker for Charles. Just not a fan of JC used without a lead blocker.

I like the way you think.

Edit: Except we're already going to be down a 2nd rounder for Alex Smith.

I'd make it a 6 for tony, that becomes a 5 for a playoff win, 4 for SB berth.

I'm anxious to see if tbg has any new word on it

Yeah, Abdullah got a lot of playing time last week.

We're almost too stacked in the secondary. It's a shame we have somebody like Abdullah not getting a ton of snaps now that another guy is even better. You want to be able to use all your talent...

I have been horribly negligent in my use of gamerewind this year. I am going back to watch some stuff. Also I have not watched hardly any CFB this year. Uninspired to do so, I suppose, with the Chiefs playing so well.

It makes me wonder if we might see some D for O trades next offseason. Gotta balance out the talent if we've got good players sitting on the bench.

Oh man, you gotta check out the college FB talent.

We've got yet another amazing draft class coming in.

Maybe I'm being a little too hard on Kendrick Lewis but I've had higher expectations out of him the last couple of seasons and feel he has disappointed those expectations. Too be fair on that point they have been high expectations. I've been expecting him to be a ball hawk like his rookie season and just make INTs every other game.

Well... keep in mind, three of our safeties will be free agents: Lewis, Abdullah, and Demps.

I gotta believe the Chiefs will re-sign at least two of those guys. Abdullah is going to be hard to re-sign. He could start for about 10 teams in this league. Demps and Lewis are in the perfect situation here.

My preference is for us to let Lewis walk, and roll with Demps and Abdullah.

Man, if we can maintain the team health the way it is for another couple of games, and then hit the bye week with time to heal up all the little nicks...
