Kelce missed like 250 snaps this season because Reid wanted Fasano's slow ass in the game. He got jewed on the ARI offensive PI call but other than that no loss to have him gone, glad to see management making the right moves. Has anyone thought of the possibility of Vernon Davis replacing him? What a nasty 1-2 TE punch

You can designate a player as a "post-June 1" cut, even though you cut him prior. This allows the player to be ahead of the curve on landing with a team in free agency, as opposed to trying to catch on right before training camp.

However, it still spreads the dead money over two years instead of one.

You can't do it with everyone though. Pretty sure it's just one guy.
