33 years of watching football and I don't remember ever seeing a 3rd and 48. I told my son, they should just punt on 3rd down

That was vintage Arrowhead. The crowd was such a force today.

I bet it would have happened back in Greg Robinson's day. However, we don't know because offenses never faced a third down against his teams.

On DT's called safety against Jeff George. I was at that game on the 15 yard line and remember how Arrowhead was so loud you could literally feel the noise.

Reminded me of the 91 Chiefs-Raiders playoff game. The Raiders got down to around the 20 at the end game, but something like 10 straight penalties put them into a 3rd and 40ish (I remember they were backed up past the 50). Then Lonnie Marts picked it off to seal the victory.

That's because you don't appreciate defense. No one thinks KC offense is anywhere near upper tier in the NFL. It is below average with flashes of promise. But that defense made for a kick ass win. Very entertaining. Very dominant.

It wasn't pretty the entire game, but Vermiel calling on LJ to punch it in with time running out rather than FG for a tie was VERY satisfying.
