I like this idea - post pics as you grow your collection. Are you a movie fan? Thoughts on collecting movies? I am of the camp of obtaining and collecting physical media.

Let it pass. Nostalgic gaming is a novel idea. And then you buy the shit. And then you get bored and it gets put away to collect dust.
I own an original SNES and Genesis no thanks to nostalgia. I played them the day i got them and haven't touched them since.

I blame Excitebike for my lifelong infatuation with motorcycles.

One of friends from high school has a room in his basement filled with 80s-era arcade games. He's got a pretty good collection, too - Stargate, Tron, Tempest, Robotron, Joust and a few others I can't remember. I can remember actual arcades from back in the day that didn't have as good a selection.
I don't know how often he plays any of them, but it's always fun to visit his house. |

I guess my crown pieces are a couple NES Advantage controllers still brand new in box. Bought them for $5 each at Toys R Us in 96’.

Used to have a big stash of NES, SNES games. Heck PS1 and PS2 games as well for that matter. Ended up selling most of them before retro collecting became a big thing like it is today. Which is a shame considering a lot of those games are worth way more now than when I sold them.
That's actually what's stopping me from getting back into it. The prices for NES and SNES games can be pretty ridiculous. |

I still have an original XBox with a mod chip and a 250GB HD full of XBox games. Still has XBMP installed. LOL. Which is actually the predecessor of XBMC, which is now the predecessor of KODI.

Of all my old consoles, my modded Wii still gets used the most. I have a modded Wii with almost every Wii game on an external HD. No discs required. My daughter and I played it a lot when she was younger. Mostly through the winter when it was too cold to go outside. Not so much now, but we still play something every now and then. Wii Sports, Fishing Resort, Tiger Woods, Mario Kart, my daughter's favorite the Kirby titles, Metroid, Mario Odyssey, etc. Fishing Resort was a very underrated game in my opinion. That might actually be our overall favorite game to play. Incredibly educational too, my daughter still talks about the different types of fish, rods, locations, boats, bait, etc. It inspired her to go fishing for real with me, and that's been one of our favorite hobbies since.
