No. **** this. His opportunities ran dry this past offseason.
Get the **** out, and don't come back.

We're f'd this season. And I seem to be in the minority here just from reading posts recently, but I'm not convinced Pioli can't turn this thing around. I think two things are certain; 1. you need a top -caliber QB to compete in this league, and 2. Romeo is in over his head.
I do think Romeo can be a successful DC, but he's not cutting it trying to be our HC and DC at the same time. And I doubt he'd accept a demotion and stick around as our DC, so with the change that has to happen and letting the new HC choose his staff, Romeo's time is up. I also think that if you simply replace our current QB situation with a top-10 NFL QB we immediately become the favorite to win the division and maybe even have enough talent to win a playoff game. Those two changes would renew my interest for next season. But to this original post, yeah that was just dumb. The fans aren't going to take much more, and the almighty dollar drives everything, and if something doesn't happen the fact Clark will start losing money will force his hand ultimately.

Yeah and he has one last one to cling to. He probably won't take it anyways. The whole point is that Pioli only has a very slim chance of returning next season, but his ONLY chance will be with Quinn. If he goes with Cassel he is basically saying he is going down with the ship. I wouldn't think Pioli would abide by some kind of code of honor to stick with Cassel through the end of the season. When push comes to shove, despite his obsession with Cassel, even Pioli has to know it's now or never for him to let RAC not start Cassel. He probably couldn't do it on his own, but with Cassel's injury he can sell it as Quinn playing because of injury, not because of Cassel's poor play.

JFC. A MONUMENTAL FAIL at QB. 2 ****ing terrible head coaches in 4 years, and a ****ton of different coordinators. A litany of terrible, shit eating draft picks. Paranoia. Phone tapping. CANDY WRAPPERS!!! This guy has GOT to go. He's got. To. Go. He's been a ****ing plague on this place from the time he showed up.
I know it's hard. I know it is. We just did all of this when Carl was fired. But it's necessary. If not, it will get much, much worse before it gets better. Right now, we just need to fill a few pieces. Much longer, and we will be forced to completely rebuild all over again, like we began to do with Carl, and Herm. |

If Pioli doesn't allow a new QB to play the fan revolt will continue exponentially. If however, he wants even the slightest chance at retaining his job, he will allow Quinn to play. It is looking more and more like a slight chance, but a new starter at QB signifies the team moving on from Cassel which in turn represents his only chance, no matter how small it may be. Anyone can see we need to move on from Cassel asap, even Clark, so if that doesn't happen, rest assured Pioli will be guaranteed.
So you have to ask yourself, would you rather see Cassel play knowing Pioli will be gone? Or would you rather see a new QB come Sunday even though it is Pioli's last lifeline? |
