Romeo sent a shot across the bow of Pioli

After hearing all the talk today on radio, etc., as much as a lot of us would have liked to have seen Romeo go for the win in regulation he probably did the best thing for this team and sent a very clear and unmistakable message to Pioli that he will not put a game in Cassel's hands unless he has too.

There are some drawbacks as that same message gets sent to the team as well.

From former players to talking heads they have all basically said that there is no disguising this message. Romeo may have done us a favor and took us a huge step towards getting rid of Cassel.

Couple this with hearing last week from Maas that Romeo says he does not believe in Cassel. This is good news.

Now those are a couple of guys with the pulse of the Chiefs at their fingertips.

A couple of semi-wases speculating about their former team. That's not a lot to hang your hat on, Pete.
They're each as close to the team as any other former player save maybe somebody who left the team in the past couple seasons. They're very active in the Chiefs community and in the media around here.

#1 offense, #1 rusher, draft pick who took over on defense, free agent with a key interception, and a road victory nobody gave us a chance to win. You can look for all the hidden messages you want, but Pioli is in hog heaven today, especially after all the grief he took last week.

I think we're gonna see Quinn soon. Two home games in a row. If (when) Cassel starts out like crap, the crowd needs to get some "Brady" chants going. I think even the casual fans are starting to see Cassel sucks.

The only clear message Crennel has ever sent to Pioli was:

"Thank you, sir. May I have another"?

or maybe

"I can cash this, right"?

I'm just saying, without coming out and just flat saying "I didn't trust my QB to win the game", this is about as close to it as it gets. Romeo sent a message to the Team, the FO and the League that he doesn't believe in Cassel.

Seriously, how many teams in this league would not have taken at least 1 shot at winning because they are scared that their QB would **** it up and throw a pick, take a sack, fumble or get another receiver kilt?

CP has this weird tradition of latching on to every dipshit the Chiefs encounter and turning them into some kind of messiah. RAC, Haley, Croyle, Stanzi, Orton, Herm, Tyler ****ing Thigpen, and so on. Their all just as shitty as we thought they where, so get the **** over it.

Crennel wasn't just aiming at Pioli, he was also aiming higher. That's right, Roger Goodell himself. He didn't trust the replacement officials to properly call a touchdown, so he forced them to officiate an extra period. It was a giant middle finger to Goodell to get the deal done. Truly brilliant.
