Wow!
KSU started scheduling the same quality basketball teams they play in Football. Didn't think they had it in them. Face it, CMSU is playing them for the money. That's it. Course, if we win, they're going to look REALLY stupid.

Thought I would bump this for everyone else to weigh in now.
Big win for the Iowa basketball team yesterday knocking off #13 Louisville. Tonight on ESPN, they got #15 Texas. BTW, ESPN College Hoops 2K5 is a blast. |

That should be a good game. I think Texas is overrated...

UL has looked rough. DII BYU-Hawaii gave them a serious scare, then they fall apart against Iowa.

Also, do you know if it's $20 like the NBA and NFL games? I assume it is... |

Never played the NBA because I'm not hugely into it, but the ESPN College hoops is $19.99 and is the best College basketball game in some time. I work at Gamestop, and within an hour of selling EA Sports March Madness, I had a guy come back and trade it in...to buy ESPN College Hoops.
A lot of different options on the game...2 on 2, 3 on 3, Online, updated rosters, Create a school, etc. |

It actually plays EXTREMELY well right out of the box (meaning you don't even have to mess with the sliders to get some rather realistic results), even on All-Conference. It's just an amazingly impressive game. Legacy Mode and the recruiting therein is much-improved, as well. I almost considered not buying CH2K5 this year because I had NBA2K5, but I caved at the last minute because of the $20 price tag. I'm grateful I did. It's completely blown my expectations out of the water.

Indiana State almost just knocked off Indiana. Led the entire first half, tied at halftime, and made it a dogfight right down to the last 3 seconds in the 2nd half before IU hit free throws and won 56-52. Indiana State was 9-19 last year and quite possibly the worst team in the Missouri Valley Conference, they looked like a completely different team tonight though and really might have outplayed Indiana.... let the Mike Davis hating-season begin...

Wake Forest.
And before the bandwagon comments come out, just know that I graduated from there in '93 (Rodney Rogers came to one of my parties) and I'm a season ticket holder. Chris Paul is as good as billed. Justin Gray was on the Jr. Olympic team this summer and Eric Williams (who needs to stop bringing the ball down below his head) would have been on the team if he wasn't seriously ill at the time. Jamal Levy is athletic--good defender with decent short range and the jumps to slam it away if you aren't covering him. Vytus Danelius rounds out the starting five. Danelius, last year, was a preseason all-ACC pick before he got injured and stunk it up. If he can rebound and shoot like he did as a sophomore, we'll be even tougher to beat (though I'll admit that I would be a little surprised by that development). Some people are already speculating that Kyle Visser is a better big man than Williams. Eric Strickland and Taron Downey are solid players who would start for tons of teams. And after yesterday's game, I'm psyched to see Chris Ellis (Dale's son) is out of the doghouse. He's big, agile, and has a surprisingly (or perhaps not, considering who his father is) good outside shot. He also gives us a fourth big man for our rotation in case Williams and Visser get in foul trouble We're definitely beatable (Illinois will likely show that when we travel there), but we'll wear out a lot of teams with our nine man rotation and push the ball up the court style of play. Our weaknesses (as last year) are free throw shooting and perimeter defense. I predict Duke's Reddick will light us up at Cameron. My hope: 27-6. #2 seed. Final Four appearance and . . . Chris Paul returns to defend the crown next year. --Infidel Goat Last edited by Infidel Goat; 11-24-2004 at 09:19 AM.. |

Syracuse BABY!
PG-Gerry McNamara Clutch, huge, clue collar SG-Josh Pace-Roll player that get's it done SF-Demetris Nichols-Sophmore coming into his own. Capable of dialing long distance PF-Hakim Warrick-National Player of the Year candiate. Can take a game over and put this team on his back C-Craig Forth-Not a superstar but a solid guy that does a lot that doesn't get noticed. (picks, screens) Billy Edelin-Started practicing again on Sunday. His addition is huge. Takes some of the pressure off of G-Mac in the back court. Terrence Roberts-Underdeveloped Derrick Coleman. Starting to find his game in college. Darryl Watkins-Big body, inside thug Louie McCroskey-Good touch, not too much of a fall off from Demetris Nichols. All in all this is a very solid team. Gerry and Hakim are one of the best combos in the country. Josh Pace always shows up and contributes. Having Billy Edelin back will give the Orange a floor general for the first time since he departed last season. I'm hoping that we meet KU in St. Louis. I like the way we both match up and think it would be one hell of a game. |
