An NFL coach does what he thinks will get the best result without risking too much... Trick plays are prone to being turnovers... It's best to avoid them... Maybe one per season... Maybe... Especially if you have a talented enough offense to legitamately move the ball and average 6 or 7 yards per play... Better to take those odds.



By the way, I'm pretty sure the last flea-flicker was run while Marcus Allen was still here... I can try and go back to check sometime...

How about the last time the Chiefs attempted a fake punt or fake field goal.

Last time I can remember for either was under Marty in Seattle in the '97 season I think was on a fake punt when Aguiar threw the ball like 30 feet in the air intended for Kevin Lockett

thank you. as far as i'm concerned we run too many BS plays. i'm sure as hell not about to see us Martz it up and try a gimmick play every other down. the only "trick" plays i want us running are play action after slamming down their pie hole with priest, lj, and d-block.

If I remember correctly, the play was successful. I agree that trick plays are risky, but there's many 4th and 1 situations where they would have worked. I guess Steve Cheek needs to concentrate on his 30 yard punts more than trick plays.

Running a trick play, or going for it on 4th down, is pretty much dictated by circumstances...When your season is already tanked theres no reason not to go for it...A 15 yard net gain on a punt is pretty worthless no matter if your season is over or not.
