Does anyone remember Carlos Carson?

I'm in a fantasy league with some guys from a fantasy site. We each took an NFl team, and then had a random team from the opposite conference assigned to us. I got the Saints.

It was an IDP league (defensive players), so sucky offensive teams would have a chance as well). So then, we could only draft players from guys who have played or are playing for your fantasy team. So guys like Tony Gonzalez (only played for the Chiefs), LJ, Joe Horn (only with Chiefs and Saints), Stallworth, etc. were exzclusively mine. I could wait until the last rounds to drfat those guys.

it was the guys like priest (ravens and chiefs), donnie edwards, aaron brooks I had to fight for.

Anyways, some of us in that league made this bet where we would send something representing our team to the winner of the whole thing if we lost. I ended up winning the damn thing and got some pretty cool stuff from the Lions guy so far.

But the buffalo bills guy sent me an old NFL Topps card. Of Carlos Carson.

Who the fock is Carlos Carson?

Assume both, but I don't actually know. WeirdWolf knows him, so he'd probably be able to say.

I remember Bill Kenney.Dino Hackett, Irv Eatman, Bill Maas, Dave Lutz... That's about all I can remember at this point. We had a big bruiser TE at the time.

My sister dated Irv for a while when I was in high school.

He was a rather large individual.

Stephone Paige, Carson's teammate, got 309 yards at Arrowhead one game in 1985 against the Chargers on 8 catches. I worked that game as a food vendor. Those were the years in which there were a lot of empty seats.

That 309-yard game is still in the record books. It's the most receiving yards in a non-OT game:

Most Scrimmage Yards, Game
336 Flipper Anderson, L.A. Rams vs. New Orleans, Nov. 26, 1989 (OT) (336 rec.)
330 Billy Cannon, Houston vs. N.Y. Titans, Dec. 10, 1961 (216 rush., 114 rec.)
309 Stephone Paige, Kansas City vs. San Diego, Dec. 22, 1985 (309 rec.)

Carlos Carson was the MAN! Imagine a Chiefs WR who actually makes the PRO-BOWL! Come on... you gotta know who CC is!

Next you're gonna tell me you've never heard of Willie Davis, or Lake Dawson or Danan Hughes....

I think they made a character in Necessary Roghness based on Hayes.
