Not to nitpick on language skills here, but I guess I just assumed you would understand "of course you do" was in response to your statement that you thought KC was in the hunt for Derrick Johnson.

You said you "would not" have a problem with Davis, rather than "did not" have a problem, therefore "of course you do" is not grammatically correct. I just figured you'd know that I was responding to the last half of your post, since responding to your stuff about Davis with "of course you do" makes absolutely no sense.

Well, uh, nevermind...

Isn't "Consumer Economics" the new name for Home Economics? If so, that'll make him doubly valuable. He can play defense AND he can advise the team on how to remove stubborn grass stains from their uniforms.

as much as we need a playmaker like carlos rogers or thomas davis on defense, passing up mike williams would be tough. williams in our offense would be ridiculous. we almost wouldn't need a defense. almost.

How great would it be to lose in the first game of the playoffs 56-49?

one rookie WR i don't think is going to once again bump up our scoring avg so high that team can't torch us. We don't need anymore points! look at the colts and us - NO D = sitting at home. Picking up Surtain & a LB / CB is much smarter.

I can't figure out why we'd pick up another safety unless we're planning on shipping off some of the ones we have- and it seems like LB is a bigger need?

Lots of teams are projecting Davis as an LB. He is 6-1 and 230 pounds. That would be slightly undersized, but not greatly. He played SLB his sophomore year in college and he put up his best stats of his college career that year: 138 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and one interception. In addition, even when he moved to safety he still spent a ton of time playing in the box up close to the line.

If our scouting staff and Gunther are convinced he can come in at LB, then I am fine with that. He would be the second best 4-3 OLB after DJ.

you act as if we haven't made upgrades already. if we get surtain that would make williams a possibility. almost. notice that key word i used again? almost. that means that even though adding williams WOULD put our offense at near untouchable levels, yes we still need more help on d.

We found out last season in the first few games that there's no such thing as an untouchable offense...

Thats all I'm saying. When the weather gets crappy a O-line and two backs like LJ and Priest are worth their weight in gold. Throw in Tony G, Kris Wilson, Kennison and Boerichter back ( i've always like him with his size and deceptive speed) I think we're fine.

The end goal is to get the D up to snuff - taking a Off player in the 1st just seems like you're cutting off your nose to spite your face.

And I've heard mixed reviews of Williams - some say Keyshawn II other swear by him - I would have loved to have had the WR TB got last year, but what's done is done.

Too bad we had to get some pointless wins and hurt our draft position.
I'm still up for a LB - no rookie CB is going to come in and outplay Warfield probably - Surtain is the answer & with the new safety's fighting it out - why couldn't woods or wesley play nickel?

I'm just hesitant to bring in a tweener S/LB - why not jump a few spots if available to get DJ? Is it at all possible to trade down and still get the CB & Blackstone (spelling?) with another 2nd?

Which likely means the KC front office is projecting him at CB.

I don't think Williams is even the best WR in this draft, let alone the best WR in years, as some would have us believe. Williams isn't going to win the Carolina game last year, or the New Orleans game.

I don't think Davis is a tweener at all. He's a playmaker and we don't have nearly enough of those on our defense. If we can trade up to get DJ, I'm all for it, as long as we don't have to give up our entire draft to do it. And yes, we could trade down, get additional picks, and still get a CB like Marlin Jackson PLUS Blackstock or someone like that.

I like either T. Davis or Rogers at #15. If they are both there, I would go with Davis if we have a deal for Surtain, Rogers if not.

I hope that Ware goes ahead of our #15 pick if we don't trade up. I am not yet sold on him. He seems to be shooting up the boards late, which IMO is a recipe for a bust.
