Yeah, I know... not really. Just thought it'd been a while since Boomer was mentioned.

Or Knight. I think he will be the biggest addition to our squad.

I appreciate his honesty, but at the same time I wish he hadn't said that. Half the starting secondary will be back from last year, and most of the backups (even if some used to be starters).

I'm with you Kevin - next thing you'll hear that Knight, Bell, and Surtain are having trouble adjusting to the "scheme".

And sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but DJ will not have an impact this year, not in his first year. I hope I have to eat my words, but I just don't know how anyone can expect a rook to come into the league and make that much of a splash.

Hater!

And I'd be willing to say that DJ Williams did pretty good for the Broncos as a rook last year.

Some Rookie LBs DO have an impact. Vilma, DJ Williams and a couple of others played pretty damn well last year. I can't imagine by midseason, that Johnson isn't a huge upgrade over what the Chiefs had on the field last year. I'm also glad that he has a mentor like Bell now.....

Derrick Johnson is too good an athlete to not have an impact. He'll be starting game 1 of the season IMO....That's enough of an impact for me.

I'd bet a week's paycheck he'll be an imediate upgrade over Monte Beisel at OLB.

I like the optimisum of the planeteers and Gun plus the addition of the new players as well.

I'm too have reservations of expecting the defensive unit to jell right away. I would say that more like mid season the defense should be in good shape. We are going to have 4-6 new starters , it's going to take time to learn the scheme.

Definately agree. If DJ can have a Vilma like year that would be sweet.
