Bob Dole doesn't know about everyone else, but almost all Bob Dole's expectations are being exceeded to this point.

Who expected to see rookies having an impact?

Who expected DA to stop dropping the ball?

Who expected Elvis to throw this many precision strikes?

Who expected to see Elvis be allowed to throw this many precision strikes?

Who expected not to cringe every time our special teams stepped on the field? (Okay...we still cringe when Petie Noodleleg trots out...)

Who would have expected KC to outscore to opposition 33-0 in the 4th quarter the last 3 weeks?

Each facet of the game has improved each week, and Bob Dole is just waiting for all 3 to gel for a full 60 minutes. Not a bad start to what many of us considered a "rebuilding year."

Here's to continued improvement!

(The come-from-behind win last night sure makes that drive home today a lot easier. Golly yeah!)

I agree with Oregon Fan.

We will beat the Raiders but not because we are a good team, it was due to (you pick)

- the Raiders were missing their whole . first string
- they didn't want to win
- Big Al dictated the players and plays
- Gannon had a bad day or can't throw
- the phase of the moon was wrong
- mini skirt lengths are too high/low

Also the AFC West is terrible so the win doesn't mean anything.

The defining point will be against the Rams. A win is HUGE. A loss...back to square one until later in the season.

I don't expect any respect this whole season no matter what we do.
Wouldn't it be nice if Grbac went into the game at corner for one play so that he could intercept a pass from Gannon and finally end the controversy. Denise would probably still want Gannon back. I for one do not want him back, I think we have our game in ELVIS GRCOMEBAC.

Had to add this tidbit. I just hope that Elvis has a stellar game and the Chiefs D shuts down the Raider O. A couple of interceptions would be really nice- one to Woods for a TD, and one to Wesley.

But Oregon....You'd have to assume an Oakland loss at San Francisco to go one up on the Raiders with a win at Arrowhead. Raiders are heavily favored. Still, even with both teams at 4-2, KC would hold the early tiebreaker.

It looks to me that KC has just surged into a 3-way race with Denver and Oaktown. But your uphill battle is steeper than either of those two teams (strength of schedule). If the Chiefs get to the playoffs after surviving the schedule, they will be the only proven commodity. But you don't have the inside track just yet. The West has yet to be won....

UD; have I mentioned that I despise AD and commitment to mediocrity? Just responding to another comment from someone about all our wins being a gift. You're right, NO ONE wishes anyone to get hurt in ANY sport. Just good clean rock-em-sock-em football. Whatever the venue, AFC West games are a barfight. Kind of like the Black Knight in the Holy Grail!

I don't wish anyone to get hurt either...just lots of "flesh wounds"

Even when all are healthy, they'll still blame it on something though.

Bob - We have hit a proverbial high.... but I believe the next 4 weeks after the bye to be pure hell. If we go 2-2 you will see the bandwagon falling over once again. After that there should be the rise in play once again... providing the injury bug does not bite too hard.

Not usually a pessimist, but realizing an uphill climb over the next month.

Don't assume Bob Dole is claiming this is at this point a Super Bowl caliber team--only that Bob Dole is pleasantly surprised at the team's play. As much of a fan as Bob Dole is, the expectations before the Indy game (and after those first 2 series) were pretty low.

And to Bob Dole's dear friend, FudgePackFan: If you'll please re-read the post, there is no mention of excitement over a 3-2 record. None. Nada. Zero. It's simply excitement over player and recent coaching performace above Bob Dole's expectations.

Bob Dole understands your pain, however. It must be disheartening to see no light at the end of your cheese-filled tunnel.

I agree it is nice to see this team start to gell and find a way to come back for the win!I think we will see HIcks do nothing but improve and Morris was an excellent first round pick....everything is looking better

Hope you had a great time in K.C. Dole!

Bob Dole had a wunnermuss time back in the old stomping grounds. Got to meet some of the BB folks, cruise around the old neighborhood and see the changes, and got a special scenic tour of Raytown about midnight Monday.

Overall, just a great time.

Senator, it was good to meet you...and yes I am pleasantly surpriesed with the season...no so much that they are winning, but the way they are winning...

We are no longer a one demensional team...we have a legitimate passing attack that people are going to have to respect...

I also can't wait until they put all phases of their game together for a full 60 minutes...something tells me that the bandwagon is standing room only now...

I have been one of the more "vocal" detractors of Raye, and of the Chiefs philosophy of letting the rookies "learn" the game by riding the pine. So I am also pleasantly surprised by Raye's calls over the last 3 games. There is still room for improvement, but he's done a much better job than he has since getting the job.
As for the rookies playing, I am more than pleasantly surprised. Shocked. Bt the Chiefs are being rewarded by the rookies with good play, and the game experience will pay dividends as the season progresses, and beyond. For the first time in a long time, I see this team movig forward.
