A new version of iTunes was released yesterday and I dig it. I have used iTunes for a while because it does the ebst job (IMO) of organizing my songs in a manner that is very clean and leaves a lot of flexibility. They have added the ability to purchase movies which really isn't for me but I imagine a lot of people will like. They also have a shitload of TV shows you can download. They also made the interface you see when you plugin and manage your ipod a lot better.

The thing I like the most is a technology they bought called cover flow. It automatically downloads cover art from the album of all the songs in your collection and makes it so you "flip through them" as if it was a physical collection. They may have single handedly saved the idea of cover art...

I gave it a spin today.

The CD cover view is a nice enhancment although practicly worthless when you have over a couple dozen cds. It takes awhile to find the cd I want with my couple hundred cd's...

Nice interface enhancements, like the video support. I wish they would support WMV movies though...yeah I know it is microsofts format but damn it would be cool...

Finally, the compilations were being sorted funky...

I went back to WMP11. I feel it is a bit better still...
