Strange cast...especially William Macy...but might be worth taking my son to. His father got a Harley so now he is really into motorcycles....he would probably find it amusing.

Yeah, my dad works at the Harley plant north of the river... I didn't have much choice in the movie selection.

The guy who plays Dr. Cox in "Scrubs" had a cameo... cracked me up. (he always does)

honestly, it could have moved a *little* faster, but I'd worry that would be at the cost of detail and plot. It is 2 hr 40 min, but I only checked my watch once. Had it been chopped to 2 hours it would have been awful I think.

Zodiac is definitely a great movie. David Fincher strikes again. It is long, but it moves along very nicely. Gyllenhaal does a great job, as does Ruffalo. It has you tense the entire movie. Looking back, there were a few parts that didn't really fit, other than for entertainment value, but really a great movie.

Nevermind, Halfcan. I see what you were saying now.

Quote:
The convicted "Unabomber", Kaczynski shares certain characteristics with the Zodiac killer:

1) Kaczynski lived in the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 1960s.
2) Kaczynski exhibited the ability to construct bombs.
3) Kaczynski communicated with the news media after committing murderous acts.

While compelling, I believe these similarities are simply the result of an imitative Kaczynski being heavily influenced by Zodiac. Additionally, Kaczynski was cleared of any involvement in the Zodiac crimes by both the FBI and the San Francisco Police Department. (Criteria used to eliminate Kaczynski as a Zodiac suspect were fingerprint comparison, handwriting comparison and the placement of Kaczynski away from California on five Zodiac dates of activity.)

A complete comparison between the Unabomber and Zodiac is available at the Dr. Zodiac website, which you can find by visiting my Zodiac Links page.

Sheeeet, I didn't know Fincher directed this. They didn't advertise that at all.
Suddenly I want to see it really bad.

I would agree other than the parts that didn't fit,I thought everything connected rather well.Great job also on the late 60's early 70's look of the film and I really liked the use of Donovan's song Hurdy Gurdy Man.The only fault I could find was of my own doing and that was hyping myself for another Fincher,Seven like movie if you will.I didn't feel near the tension of that one but then again imo Seven is the best film of its genre ever,a solid 10.

I'd still give Zodiac an 8.5 though.

I cant wait to see this. I did read to NOT expect another Seven, even though they are in the same genre. I have read that Zodiac was much more methodic and more of a police procedural harking back to the great flicks of the 1970's....

I love Fincher. Amazing, i was ready to personally go shoot the guy after Alien 3 and hes done amazing work after that debacle.

I just got back from seeing it and am very happy. Great acting and aesthetics. The cast was amazing, and included guys who are hot right now in Hollywood as well as some unexpected gems that haven't been seen for a while (like Anthony Edwards). I also enjoyed the depiction of all the confusion and frustration with an actual police investigation. Its not like CSI or some other TV crime show where everything wraps up nicely by the end of the episode. I also like the fact that Fincher put in some playful humor to lighten the mood. Good work Mr. Fincher.
