Looks like I'll be dead in a couple of weeks.
Irregular heartbeat, atrial fibrillation. They're going to stop my heart and restart it to get it beating right again... but for a brief moment, I'll be dead.

I plan to NOT move towards the light.

I was a part of the team that performed this procedure on patients about twice a week for 9 years. Never saw or heard of an issue. All you are doing is stopping the electrical current so that it can start again. I've never saw it fail to bring the patient out of A-fib.

It sounds scary and there are risks but it was really viewed as a minor procedure by us RT's.
