The Official I'M SICK OF SUMMER Thread

Here's a rant.

I wish heat and humidity were a person.

Someone that I could abduct, trap in my basement and slowly fucking torture to death. And I'm not talking a mild blowtorch and thumbscrews type of torture - I'm talking a Kevin Spacey from Seven type of torture - something that would take weeks or months, even years. Something that would be marveled over later.

Enough with this crap. On a day where it was vile and miserable anyway, right at 5:00, it pours fucking rain, but only for a few minutes; not long enough to affect the temperature, but just long enough to raise the humidity levels to about 10,000%. Thirsty? Just open your mouth and breathe, and hope you don't drown. So then I walk the mile to the train station in this soupy, miserable shit. Well, that's over, I think. WRONG. Now the fucking air conditioning goes out on the train right as we're leaving the goddamn station, for the second fucking day in a row. There's another sonofabitch I'd like to go Spacey on - the dick in charge of making sure the air conditioning works - probably some lazy rat bastard drinking a cup of coffee in a nice cool office somewhere. What a lovely 45 minute train ride to enjoy after I was already rolling fucking sweat.

If I could get a paying job in fucking Antarctica, I'd take it. I hate the midwest, I hate summer, I hate the heat and I REALLY hate the fucking humidity.

COME ON WINTER HURRY UP AND fuckING GET HERE

That is all.

That's what I'm saying. I've been to the beach in fall/winter/early spring and while it might be warm enough to be out in the sun, generally the water's too damn cold.

Unless you're from up north. Those extremely pale folk think 70-degree water is just swell.

I love the summers here in Colorado. Don't have AC and there's probably only 2 weeks of the summer that I miss it. Temp drops 30+ degrees every night and all you need to do is crank up the attic fan.

Hell, even the winter is much better than KC.

Sorry about your miserable train ride though Tim. Have you ever considered taking a job out here in berbs?
Sure, I've considered it. Unfortunately, I'd have to take a big pay cut - to make decent money, I have to be downtown.

I'm much calmer now, BTW.

I wouldn't be surprised if I'd posted a thread like this every year about this time - after a hot nasty day in late August or early September when I've just finally run out of patience for it and snapped.

I hate the summer as well Fraz. I enjoy winter much more,

Got to turn on the a/c to keep cool in the summer. In the winter I'll just put on more clothes in the house to keep from paying that huge gas bill.

How espensive would it be to keep our 870 sq ft. house warm at around 72? I'm pretty sure we don't have good insulation either.

Thats a bit chilly. 72 for the hi, and 55 for the lo. You'd never need AC or heat...
