Do you use powders or dried whole chilis in your Texas chili?

I start mine dried New Mexico or Anaheim chilis, soak them in hot water and them toss them in the blender with beef broth. From there every batch is different but I always start with that base.

We shop PC almost exclusively and I've never seen it there. I'll have to check HyVee.

Usually - dried and fresh. Since it was a whim decision, I cheated this time. I'm making a spicy version my usual way (with the exception of powdered chilis) and a mild version with which I took a ton of liberties. Believe it or not, it has bananas and strawberries in it. Heh. I'm out of control.

Looks fantastic. Let me know how it turns out. I don't think I've ever put the Blues Hog on ribs before. I use it in my pulled pork mostly.

Over here in JOCO we're losing our Dillon's to PC. I've never been impressed with AG for quality. The Kroger stores (they owned Dillon's) were always top notch.

Good stuff. It's a very sweet sauce. My wife will love it, I'm sure.

I don't normally do wet ribs, but decided that's what I wanted to do today.

One rack's gone. The other is in the fridge.

Here is a hint that I find really helps. Add 1/3 of a 4 oz bottle of liquid smoke to a pot of boiling water. Keep your ribs as far away from it as possible.
