I only own a select few games.
Gears of War, Halo 3, Tiger Woods, COD4, Oblivion(never really played) and Madden. I just don't see the point of dropping $50-60 on a game like MGS4 that probably wouldn't have any replay value for me and I'm assuming doesn't offer some sort of online multiplayer. Am I the only one that feels this way. I'd rather drop $5 and rent it over a weekend, than spend $50, beat it once, maybe go back through one more time and then sell it to Gamestop for $20 a couple weeks after it comes out. The only game in recent memory I've played through the campaign more than once was Gears, but that's only because I played on Hardcore, then went to Insane, then went back through and Co-oped Insane with a friend. |

I will probably just wait until this thing drops to $30 now though.

Since I subscribed to Gamefly about a year ago, I've opted to rent the large majority of single player-centric games I otherwise would've purchased before joining. I don't regret buying MGS4 because I was anticipating its release for quite a while, but looking at it practically, I would've been better suited to wait for it to arrive from Gamefly. Not that it doesn't warrant a purchase for the majority of people (it is a fantastic game), but in my case I beat it in about 3 days and will likely not have the urge to play it again for another year. |

I'll agree with you though that games are kind of expensive for titles you will only play once or twice. MGS4 does offer multi player that they will expand upon, and is actually quite fun, and the game is pretty short if you skip the cut scenes, and there are quite a few things to unlock if you go through it achieving certain goals.

Playing the Silent Cartographer for the first time was just amazing. Can't replace the feeling, it was an epic gaming moment. And that's just my beef with dropping $50, you say MGS4 is pretty short, so I'm assuming it's an easy weekend type of game. And I understand, some people like their FPS on a computer, but the last time I really played a FPS on a computer was like 8 years ago with Rainbow Six. |
