CARL PETERSON HEADED TO MIAMI?

CARL PETERSON HEADED TO MIAMI?

It’s unclear if Bill Parcells will exercise the escape clause in his contract with the Dolphins, but Carl Peterson may have something to do with his decision. The former Chiefs G.M. is close to new Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and, according to Adam Schefter, people around the league are convinced that Peterson is headed to Miami “sooner rather than later.”

Ross owned the Philadelphia Stars of the USFL and Peterson was their general manager. Peterson’s teams compiled a 48-13-1 record and he won two USFL Executive of the Year awards.

That makes Peterson the likely successor if Parcells decides to leave. It could also increase the likelihood that the Tuna takes his money and runs. If Parcells stays, Ross could hire Peterson in another capacity and create a situation where Parcells has less decision-making power.

Soooo... to make it seem like a good hire they have to go back twenty-something years to Peterson's record in a different league? Why don't they mention Peterson's record with the Chiefs or, better yet, Peterson's record without Marty?

Maybe that's why Herm hasn't been fired. When Carl gets to Miami, we can get a draft pick for the rights to Herm Edwards.

I just read that... To bad other fanbases see Herm for what he is, yet he was praised here because he could turn around defenses...

I’m sure this falls into the category of leave it alone, but…Carl Peterson retires from the Chiefs who still have him under contract. Carl in that same year takes a job with the Miami Dolphins. Wouldn’t the Dolphins owe the Chiefs some type of compensation? Maybe in this case we have to pay Miami a case of beer.

If there was a position called "Team Motivational Speaker," Herman would fit the role perfectly. I agree with Shitlock's words, "damaged goods."

I hope for the sake of those fans this isn't true. Carl doesn't deserve another GM job. Nobody deserves the pain that comes with him.

I know it will never happen, but imagine the entertainment value of Carl Peterson and Bill Parcells in the same organization. Watching the two collide would be hysterically funny. Who cares about fins fans when we could watch that?

Other than he didn't retire, he resigned.
