Defensive Coordinator

What coordinator could we find that would run a hybrid defense like Philly. I think it would be a horrible idea for us to switch to the 3-4 with our personnel. I want an attacking 4-3 like the Giants or Philly. Who would fill this role?

Hi Reiss, with all the coaching departures from the Patriots, is there any discussion to bring back Romeo Crennel? I know there are probably more holes to fill on the offensive side, but I think there is always a need for a good defensive guy. I haven't seen this question on your blog but I have missed a couple of the QAs so I hope I'm not being redundant.

A: Romeo Crennel is undergoing hip surgery this month, and then he plans to decide what he'll do. Just a hunch, but I think he'll wind up in Kansas City as defensive coordinator. I don't see him coming back to New England.

Does it really matter with how terrible our front 7 are? 4-3 or 3-4 we're getting a new DC and we need new players, so whatever we do is fine with me.

I could not agree with you more.

I think we keep Tyler, Dorsey, and Hali and bring in a new RE. Johnson is the only linebacker worthy of a starting spot on our team right now. So two starting LB's and a RE and I think we'd be in business.

I hope he's right. That would be excellent.

I never really paid much attention to Crennel previously, was he really that great of a DC? One would wonder why that success didn't transfer over when he HC'd the Browns?
