LJ has limited vison and patience, is considered a power back who has limited power, can't (or won't) block, is a marginal reciever, who has only ever done one thing well, that being lowering his shoulder and knocking smaller defenders on their ass when he got into the second level, but in the last two seasons has pussified and hasn't even done that.

In short, he simply sucks ass.
You analysis seems spot on. I think he could be real good in limited roles, but will he accept a limited role? I think he would piss and moan then go out and beat another female in another bar. I say get what you can for him now.

I, for one am still glad that they traded Jared Allen. I am not sure he has his act together. If you watched him on tape last year, he was not as good as he was in 2007. The difference is that he played on a better line.

Now, I would have MUCH rather traded LJ, but I don't think the Chiefs had a decent offer.

Allen doesn't fit in a 3-4 anyways.

About the only thing I can find fault with is the limited power part. I am not for getting rid right now for nothing, because he is still clearly the best overall back on the roster.

Also, last year was his first in the zone running scheme, and the transition was even harder running out of the spread formation.

Not going to hurt my feelings if he goes, but he is out best everydown back right now.

Just an observation.

People around here fell all over themselves defending Jared Allen, who had alcohol related issues dating back to college.

People here continue to say that Vick should get another chance, after murdering dogs via electrocution, body-slamming and dogfighting, as well as gambling - which got Pete Rose banned from his sport.

I'm not defending LJ's actions by any means, but there is a massive double standard around this place.

I voted Go. And it had far, far more to do with what Milkman posted than anything else. I am way more interested in the Chiefs in the long haul than I am interested in the Chiefs 2009 version. Sure, I want to see better things in 2009, but the long term vision of where the Chiefs are going is much more important to me.

Going in a different direction with this franchise should not stop with the people in the front office and coaching staffs. A trade scenario would be the better option, but just cutting ties if that does not happen would be addition by subtraction as well.

FWIW, I could care less if he stays or goes.

I've said numerous times before, that if this coaching staff is actually going to USE HIM, then I think we should keep him unless we get a decent trade offer - which I'm doubting.

The only reason I'd be OK with flat-out cutting him is if they are planning to ignore the running game as Haley did last year, or if they honestly feel that they can get by with Smith/Charles, someone else on the roster, a draft pick or a FA signing.

Thing is, I didn't see any heart out of LJ. I can not even begin to recall how many times last season we handed him the ball on 1st down... and I just knew it was going to be 2nd and long. And not because of the O-line play either. I just had no faith in LJ to make it 2nd and 5 or so.

I had that faith in Charles that it could get to 2nd and 5... even if he didn't get it to that point. At least he seemed to be trying to make it happen. I didn't get that with LJ.
