Think we shoulda drafted BJ Raji?

I think tyson Jackson is gonna be a really good player. Our De's are fine, and judging from the posts I see alot here including myself are concerned about the NT position.

It'll be a weak point all year, unless, Tank Tyler can become really good for us? I hope so. If not, then there is always that position to fill next year. This team had a lot of holes to fill to begin with so its expected were still gonna have weaknesses on the team. Pioli is in year 1 of cleaning Carls mess he needs a couple of more years.

*Did Wilfork sign a new contract w/ the Pats?

You ask a good question... and then give it a good answer....

Many many holes... Just hope we are in the right position in the draft for a good NT next year and that there is someone there that Pioli likes. With more and more teams moving to 3-4, the NT is a more and more coveted big body.

Its getting blasted by 2-3 guys on every play. Its the hardest position there is. Bar none. You need strength, mass and leverage and an attitude. Its hard to develop while you are being mauled

I think Tank needs stronger legs. His upper body is strong enough to bench press a dump truck. But he doesn't have a strong enough base to hold his position.

Sorry have to disagree.

Seymour is awesome.

He was in his prime when NE won bowls, prolly not as good as he used to be, but I still think he is a factor in that defense.

id take him over anyone we have on the line at this point.

I watched the Bucs play Saturday and they have a DT named Sims that looks like he has eaten his way out of the NFL.

I think i heard after all the weight the team lost during this off-season, he's down to 303 or something... That just won't cut it at NT.

But if he were to add 2, 3 or say 30 more pounds, we'd be set. :P

Man if we landed Wilfork (something Carl would NEVER do) that would be nuts.

Then next season we focus on FA/draftees for OL, LB (both inside and outside) and WR

Anyone who's even pretending to imagine that we could land Wilfork is doing some serious junk.

Nothings wrong with him he plays just like he did in college. He is super strong in the gym but plays high with terrible technique and gets pushed around a lot. He was the blocking dummy at the senior bowl and was getting owned by soon to be college offensive linemen.

The Pats have 2 young defensive tackles in Ron Brace and Myron Pryor that are both looking exceptional thus far. I know it's preseason, but given the impressive youngsters and the Pats history with re-signing free agents I'd be surprised if they keep Wilfork.

I was all for the Raji pick in the draft, especially knowing (in hindsight) that we got a pretty good 3-4 DE prospect in the 3rd round.

If running the 3-4, I'd rather use the 3rd overall pick on a NT over a DE.

I think he's the same as DBowe. He's obviously playing well, just not doing it the way the coach's want. Even if you do it your way and do it well, you ain't gonna start on this team. Just give it time, if he doesn't get it by the first game, I'd imagine he'll buy in a few games in.

I have a feeling the guys who aren't playing b/c they aren't doing as their told know why they aren't playing. Is not starting the punishment for DBowe? Or is it that he has to see his actions are hurting the offense, therefore hurting the team. Not to mention the attitudes of the guys around him if he continues to be stubborn and hurt the team.

Well duh. That's not a hard statement to make, also doesn't make him better than mediocre.
