WR's.

Metro sports post game analysis : Said our WR's aren't getting open down the field. This included Bowe.

This is kinda why I was hoping Lelie would stick because he at least has speed, but yeah. It's going to be a struggle at wideout this year...

That was kinda what I was trying to say.
I'm not sure WR's are "wide open" very often.
So if that's the word you meant to use I'm not sure the fact that the Chiefs WR's weren't is an indictment.

The thing about Bowe is that he's not going to get wide open very often. He doesn't have the quickness or deep speed to do so. On the other hand, the guy is a freak with his size, so there are times when our QB will need to trust that he can beat the DB in getting to a ball and making a catch. He's shown that ability, especially on several balls this year.

Sorry for rambling, but my point is that yes. Our WR did not/do not get separation down field.
This would be where we could hope Long gets activated to the active roster pretty soon. He should be familiar with the Haley system from last year, and if he is as fast as they say he is, could be the guy in the slot to break things wide open.

Pure luck. Had nothing to do with the playcalling.

This is why this team will not be successful if it cannot run the ball. We have to be able to run so that we can utilize some play action passing and get some guys open. Passing the ball this year is going to take a lot of planning and effort, we're not going to be able to physically beat guys off the line...

It was magic. Arrowhead magic.

Time to throw is the key, folks. Even Oakland's WR's can get open if you give them 20 seconds a play. If Cassel ever gets the kind of time to throw that Trent Green had, he'll light up the NFL.

QFT. It all boils down to our line. Hopefully Cassel isn't too old by the time we get it together in the trenches.

Well I for one was just thinking about starting a thread about how much I like our WR's now. I hold to the fact that by the end of the year, Cassel will routinely be throwing 300 yd games every week. I'd be ok with this crew. Wade is our Welker and Bowe is our Moss.
