Chargers Sign DT Alphonso Boone / What can you tell me about him?
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...nso-Boone.html
Source: Chargers sign DT Alfonso Boone Veteran lands in San Diego Aaron Wilson Now, it's official. Alfonso Boone is a San Diego Charger. The veteran free agent defensive lineman signed a one-year contract today with the Chargers, a league source told National Football Post. Brad Biggs first reported for National Football Post that Boone was on his way to the Chargers. Boone was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs after starting 19 games over the past few seasons. Boone has a background with Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera and defensive line coach Don Johnson from his time with the Chicago Bears. Boone was on the Oakland Raiders' radar earlier this month, but that interest fizzled out when they acquired Richard Seymour via a trade from the New England Patriots. |

I'll put it like this . Daniel Snyder offered Pioli his first round pick in 2010 and 2011 and Pioli turned him down whereas Snyder had to settle for Haynesworth.

Yeah, he failed miserably as a 4-3 DE. Seemed likr he was a better penetrator, and not so much a power guy, not real sure what the Chargers see in him.
BUT while he's pretty old, he didn't take a lot of snaps in chicago, so if you can get him to produce, you might get a few years out of him. Realistically, if you expect as much out of him as about everyone else signed in this timeperiod, it would be reasonable. Posted via Mobile Device |

Last year in the second half when the Chiefs were floundering, he basically quit on the team. He sat out some games with marginal "injuries." He'll be one of the first rats to bail off the ship if things don't go your way. He's just after a paycheck.
Good riddance. |
