Computer question
My wife plays some games at a site that uses a lot of animation and her computer sometimes freezes up.

Is there a game software she can download to improve her computer's performance?

Or is there another solution, short of buying a new computer, to this problem.

maybe websites have gotten better since the 2 years ago that I was using it. Don't get me wrong I'm no big IE fan, just that compatibility issues are right near the top of concerns for the technically challenged.

No, you can continue to use Outlook Express regardless of which web browser you use. She can look into Google's browser, Chrome, too if she wants to compare all of the leading alternatives.

I used Outlook Express for a long time after converting to Firefox. I recently adopted the Mozilla email client, Thunderbird, and kicked Outlook Express to the curb, but that's certainly not necessary.

yep hamas hooked me up with it a week or so ago, i'm not real tech savvy, works GREAT for me. my wife uses pogo and other game sites and they no longer have issues. TRY IT

My wife decided to compress outlook express.

When she got on the computer, she no longer had her folders, usually displayed on the left, gone.

How can she fix this?

Ohh geez. You shouldn't really ever let Outlook Express compact your messages. Messages generally don't take up that much space. And if you're running out of space, there's a bunch of other things you can do other than compacting messages.

Anyways, I think this page will help you out: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918069

There's a file available a little ways down that page that is said to resolve that issue. Not positive it will work, but it's worth a shot.

I've suggested to her that she might want to consider a system restore to the point to before she started all this.

Would that solve her problems created by the compacting program, or is that a bad idea?
