ESPN's Joe Schad reports that Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford will announce Wednesday that needs season-ending shoulder surgery.
The next question is whether Bradford will enter the 2010 NFL Draft coming off a lost season. A case can be made both ways. Bradford, who's injured the AC joint in his throwing shoulder twice this year on nearly identical plays, could possibly still be a mid first-round pick if he has the operation and checks out well at next February's Combine. He could also return for his senior year and attempt to rejuvenate his draft stock.

Bradford dominated four events. Only one he lost was the football throwing contest.

And I did predict that Bradford was going to get injured because of shit like ESPN is doing.

especially someone like Bradford, who is minimally talented for the attention he gets related to the NFL, it was a horrid, horrid decision

He would have never been able to stand up to the scouting process. He would have been the #3, maybe the #4 QB last year. It wouldn't have surprised me to see him go after Freeman, and let's say that he went to the Vikings at 22, a perfect fit for him.

Harvin got about 14 million from the Vikings. Let's say Bradford gets a QB premium and gets 15.5.

Now he falls to pick 35.

He's probably looking at about 4-4.5 million there.

So he cost himself a little over 10 million, IMO.

I cannot make that prediction, becuase I know the Chiefs will not win the 2010 Super Bowl.

I'd draft him in the 2nd without even hesitating. He would have been the #1 over all pick last year and this year if he wouldn't have been injured. He's easily the most accurate QB i've ever seen...why wouldn't you? Even though we just signed Cassell long term, you don't turn down a potential franchise QB like that. Even if he ends up sitting for a year or two but shows amazing ability in preseason or filling in for Cassell then you trade him for a couple #1s...or you trade Cassell. It's a great position to be in.

That is interesting. I figured someone would take him on stats alone. Anyway, I don't really know enough to speculate.

Interestingly, if his insurance policy was for somethng like $15M and he still goes on the the NFL, this injury could have been profitable for him under the situation you described. Of course that leaves out second contracts, but it isn't reasonable to speculate what they might be.
