Suppose the Chiefs don't make any more FA acquisitions and draft Berry.....

What would you think of this defensive lineup:

LE T. Jackson
NT S. Smith----->(competition between him and Cam Thomas)
RE Dorsey
OLB Hali
ILB Vrabel
ILB D. Johnson
OLB ???? Pass rusher(hopefully J Hughes)
CB Flowers
CB Carr
FS Berry
SS Morgan (assuming he surprises this year)

*Im expecting to receive criticism from putting Vrabel in there because Im aware many of you don't like him, but go ahead and flame away. Like it or not, he is here, and is going to play a role one way or another. At least we could say, DJ and Vrabel would be more of an improvement over C. Mays and D. Williams?

My chiefs mock only for rds 1 &2:

1-Berry
2a-J Hughes
2b-C Thomas

This.

I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE it if we could get Pat Angerer from Iowa in the 4th round. He is one of those guys who seems to always be where the play goes...great instincts, makes up for lack of athleticism with heart and intelligence.

True. Thanks for the wakeup call.

I'd be surprised if we don't get another LB in the 2nd round. Spikes would be good.

Maybe he CAN be but so far he been lost and soft.

At this point, it would be just as feasible to tell Derrick Johnson to lose weight and try him at strong safety as count on Morgan to start.

Morgan is a liability in coverage too. Watch last years preaseason games. The guy couldn't even hold his own with 3rd stringers. He kept on trying to make a play on the ball instead of on him man and came up with big fat whiffs. With the 3rd string receiver already behind him with the ball, it spells disaster unless his teammate clean it up for him. Imagine the liability he becomes facing Marshall/Royal/Stokely.

How dare ye cast doubt on thy savior Morgan. He is the greatest talent to never do an impressive thing in a game since Chris Wilson.

Oh wait, Chris Wilson actually saw the field more.

Carry on.

Careful now, go easy. You are about to incur the wrath of the know everything genuis tribe.

Inexplicably they spent great deals of time last year bitching that Morgan wasn't on the field and then defending his poor to mediocre play after he did get on the field.

It's all good Laz. Never thought of you that way so no worries.

But I agree with you, you have a point, at this point in his career Morgan hasn't shown much.

*McGraw is probably the best guy for the SS job. I thought he played well at times last year, but he is a liability in coverage that's my concern with him due to lack of speed.

no, but he hasn't been much help in coverage and will miss a tackle way too frequently.

would prefer an upgrade tbh

Flowers/Berry/Page/Carr wouldn't be terrible next year though

i still don't know what they hell we are going to do at linebacker though.

Hali/Williams/Mays/Vrabel just doesn't get it done imo

a better NT will help though

No clue what the front office will do, but I really hope he can be a viable player. If we give up on him, that is ANOTHER goddamn player we have to find. Currently, even if we draft Berry, who the **** is going to back him up?
