English Bulldog Breeder

I am just starting the process of getting my boy an English Bully. They have everyone convinced out here they need at least $2,500 to get a good one. I know that's just not the case nationally. If anyone knows where I can get a really great bully at a good price please let me know. Just throwing that out there.

Why would you buy a BMW or mercedes or lexus or anything, I mean there are tons of cheap cars out there why not just pick the kia.

Yes 2500 is a lot for a dog, yes you can go to the pound for a free dog. Yes there are a million different breeds of dogs out there, some cost less some cost more. That goes for anything in life, whats your point? So you wouldn't buy a dog for 2500, some people would, and some would buy a kia.

Trained dogs can be very expensive. I've seen a lab go as high as 250K. My best friend paid 7K for one two years ago. I sold one of mine about 8 years ago for 3K. Guard dogs can, ummm, fetch well over 10K.

It's all relative to the size of your wallet.

you're going to use a car to make money by driving it to work daily. aside from companionship (which you can get just as much from a pound mutt), what does a mercedes dog (that'll break down like the kia you mentioned, apparently) bring that a mutt won't?

Bully's are ugly/adorable dogs, but do to health issues and cost, I would recommend a German Shepherd, my girl is priceless!! I would post a picture, but I can't.

because I want quality that will LAST (8 year max for 2.5k... and all for a dog? no thanks). maybe if the dog was likely to last fifteen years like a lot of other dogs, and I was independently wealthy. seems like a waste to me.

+1 for mahimike

in other news, aside from not knowing the exact history of a pound animal, don't they need a home more than some overbred $2500 dog? last I checked, reputable breeders won't put down excess puppies if they don't sell quickly enough.

Get him a victorian bully. They have not been over bred and dont have the health problems. All bullys originated from this dog and they are such a pretty dog. They have about the same temperment and are little bit taller and more muscular.

This. It's sad what humans have done to that dog.

Very true...they are only worth what people are willing to pay for them. That said people in Cali don't mind paying more $$. We are lab breeders and have had several people fly in to KC just to pick up there pup and take it back with them. We have had a few fly in to Kc then drive to our place just to pick it out at 6 weeks also, pretty much the only people doing that are from Cali...for some reason. I have a litter of chocolates right now priced at 1K each and all were sold except one by 3 weeks of age. So people will pay for the right dog.
Just pull some of that moldy money out and spend it big daddy!
That said I would only buy from a reputable breeder...also ask for references if you aren't sure. Just because they have a web site doesn't mean they are good breeders!
