There's a lot to be said for the "less is more" movement and recognizing the difference between what you need and what excess is.....but
It's also only fitting for a certain type of lifegoals. He said in the video that it allowed him to finally start "doing the things he wanted to do". That's great and I'm all for it. It is a tad convenient, though, that those things never seem to include activities that just require some space. Building a pool table. Housing livestock, etc. As has been pointed out, he might not even be looking for a wife. I do wonder what he'd do with a wife and 3 kids, though. 100sq ft? I love the attention to purging the un-needed stuff, though. For sure. |

I would be inclined to do that kind of thing if I were single. I don't need a lot of room. As long as I have food, internet, a place to sleep, and a place to shit... I'm generally pretty content.
Dunno if I would make it mobile like he did but as it is we already live a minimalist type life. Our house is only 1003 sq ft. Downside is that I could prolly not have a dog bigger than a phone book. |

That is way too small. I would, however, totally live in a Penguin House (about 900 sq ft.)

Unless the guy is a 24/7 layabout, or he has a huge ass shed somewhere on property, he's just mostly offsited any and all activities people usually do at home. Dude can't so much as repair a lawn mower unless it's in the yard with borrowed tools. Can't entertain anyone, unless it's one person on his playhouse porch. Only exercise is walking/jogging, unless he gets a gym membership or rents a bicycle. Probably has to grocery shop EVERY day. Laundry at a Mat. Doubt he can watch movies/sports much over a whisper with the amount of sound that escapes his walls. Probably has to hire an accountant/assistant to handle his bills/records.

Or maybe he uses all the money he saves on housing costs to hire a butler to do it all for him. Well, except maybe the exercise.

I need to figure out how to emulate this guy. My house is only 2000 sq foot and I'm gonna have a 350 dollar electric bill this month easy. That is with a one year old heating and cooling system and 80% thermal windows

If it can't hold a minimum of 150 lbs of dog (otter tails included) I have no use for it.
Even if I were single, I'd have a pair of pretty good sized dogs.
