TO and Chad already

9/12/10: Not many answers to disappearing act

The biggest mystery after the game was why weren’t Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens on the field for the final play of the first half. It really didn’t get solved with the postgame comments.
Ochocinco’s was answered. He went in 30 seconds early. Coach Marvin Lewis said the reason was to get an IV which is standard during games early in the season. We have seen it a couple times during the past couple years.
As for Owens, who left with one second remaining, that one is a little more murky.
One assumption would be that Owens thought the half was over but Lewis said: “Terrell went in to get worked in and looked at.”
When pressed on what he was getting looked at, Lewis said: “Just getting looked at, that’s our business.”
Owens’ response to the question got testier as it continued to be asked. Here’s the 30 second summary:
Q: Why did you go into the locker room a little bit early at the end of the first half?
TO: “Coach said he would address that.”
Q: Coach said you needed to come in to get something looked at?
TO: “Coach said he would address that.”
Q: Are you worried at all about the perceptions that neither you or Chad were on the field?
TO: “Coach said he would address that. Guys I mean how many ways are you going to ask me and I don’t know how many ways I’m going to answer. He said he would address it.”

it's impressive. But that was w/2 games against the Browns and 2 against a significantly worse Pittsburgh Steelers. The two wins against the Ravens is impressive, but their schedule is going to be significantly tougher this season. Significantly.

I think it's hysterical...

Drafturbators always telling me how "stupid" I am...

I called Palmer being terrible THREE YEARS AGO...

He had ONE good year.

Dude isn't good.

he has no feel...he has no touch...he's not a winning QB

I don't care what his numbers said today...that game was over before it started and the Bengals are an 8 win team, tops...

and if Tom Brady, Peyton Manning...Aaron Rodgers...

was their QB?

14 wins.

Palmer holds them back because he isn't...good.

So for all the people who bashed me for saying Romo >>>>> Palmer...

Suck one.

Both Chad and T.O. played pretty well today, actually. Trust me, I was there. I still say that team is going to be a tough opponent weekly and will make some noise in their division. Baltimore and Pitt might still be a hair better, which is why I picked Baltimore to win that division, but I wouldn't be surprised if all three teams finish above .500 this year.

Your voicemail must be overflowing with NFL GM jobs and Fantasy Sports Publication Editor jobs.

You are so impressive.

I can hardly fathom how you can make time to have strangers smell your hand at the bar.

Loser. Legend in your own mind.

Yeah, but they didn't make the schedule, and Pitt was different when they had Polomalu, which I know they did for at least one of them. Haven't seen their schedule this year, don't remember it last year, just that the Chiefs actually played them well, and Denver beat them on the luckiest of plays.

I guess what i'm saying is that I think they're better than they played today, but NE might again be SB caliber.

After watching the Bengals-Pats shortcut, a few observations:

Bengals ran ok, despite some drops TO & Ocho played ok.

Pats o-line is awesome, brady can tie his shoes behind that line, he has all day to throw. Bengals line, not so great.

Palmer was BAD in 1st half

Brady looks like an MVP again, unfortunately.

There doesn' seem to be enough defenders for all the Patriots' weapons. Faulk, Moss, Taylor, Welker, Gronkowski, Hernandez, etc.

Brandon Tate is really good.
