I had a link and lost it to the Montana/Wyoming/SD/ND areas from the high country down too Pierre. Blow you away. The high country depending on area will be releasing huge amounts of water into August. The snowy range got 8 in new snow 2 weeks ago in the high areas.
One snowload area in Montana I read about had 327% of normal snowpack, many areas in MT, Wyo, Colo are in excess of 200% of normal. This ugly baby wont go away for a while. More proof man really is not a factor when mothernature does her bad girl thing.

I've got tons of friends that are being evacuated. Luckily none of my relatives live that close to the river. Ft. Pierre is getting ****ed hard though.

It's an unfortunate situation all around. As if the flooding and sewage isn't going to be bad enough, it's highly likely that his wife has never seen all of the vehicles "together". This aggregated sighting is going to shoot off little wife alarm bells and he'll be coerced into selling half of them. Here's some tips for the young bucks: Clip the wiring on those little alarm bells early in the marriage. It was the only imperfection in my bride, and she eagerly clipped em herself. Fabulous. For those unable to obtain the perfect wife, follow this simple rule. NEVER put all of your XXXXXX (tools, vehicles, hobbies) where it's all visible in one location. Scatter them about. Diffusion of sight is helpful. |

This is ****ing ridiculous. Sometimes I really hate this country.
I turn on the news this morning and there is practically nothing about this. I Don't hear about it anywhere. There is a brief mention that people are being evacuated because of flood waters. That's it. Is there not enough people dying for it to be newsworthy or something? I had NO IDEA it was that bad, and I watch the news as I'm getting ready for work every morning. **** that irks me.

But I do know that our fanatical fascist government is putting new graphic warning labels on cigarette packs! Because that's a far more important story for the local news to discuss. |

The news could care less what happens to farmland in a river bottom, there is no story in South Dakota, North Dakota..is that in the USA?, and Montana they ignore unless its a story about a crazed loony hiding from the cops in the bush.
A lawyer in Pierre lost everything, walked into the post office and ate a bullet....no media coverage... The dams with all the outflow are incurring erosion issues at the spillways that are horrific...no coverage. How snowy? This is at 5400 feet, 4 plus feet snow Memorial day...guy said he was flyfishing that area a year ago, same weekend. Imagine snow at 9000 feet... Hungry Horse Dam...check out snowline...Memorial Day. Oahe Reservoir in SD....the emergency flood gates and main gates running...How much suction does 1.6 million gallons per minute make? Here is the whirlpool in Oahe taken by military from a helo Spillway at Pierre...note erosion on banklines. Flow is 110,000 cubic feet per SECOND Few days later As a reference...what a snowmelt this size look like in the wilderness?
