Chiefs almost traded Charles to Skins in 09
Former Washington Redskins general manager Vinny Cerrato said that the Redskins nearly acquired Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles in 2009. The Redskins offered a fourth-round draft choice but did not want to meet the Chiefs asking price of a third-round draft choice, so the talks did not go any further.

Years ago it came out that the Chiefs had shopped Derrick Thomas around. Their response was that before the draft they shop all their top players as a way to see what they are worth and see what they could get.
With Charles, the fact they countered with a 3rd is frighting. I could see if it was to see if anyone would give a crazy offer, but a 4th. That's nuts.
