That is one awful trophy. Just give a rusty live trap away to the winner and it would be an upgrade over that.

Say anything else negative about Iowa and I'll have you sodomized by the newly crowned big boar champion of the Iowa State Fair.

The trophy sucks...It should probably be a bronze butter cow.

I would rather it be like a corn stalk or something slightly less gay.

I think it's kind of stupid looking, but I don't quite get all of the backlash.

Because the Cy-Hawk trophy has nothing to do with the two schools or football anymore. I understand that the Corn Growers Association or whatever is the new sponsor of it. But they went a little overboard on whatever that is supposed to be. Sure that would make a great statue in front of their office, but not in either schools trophy case. Looks like something you would win for... I don't even know what. But its not a good football trophy.

Press conference at 2 p.m., Tuesday to announce what’s going on with the Cy-Hawk Trophy
Quote:

I just got off the phone with Mindy Williamson, the director of communications for the Iowa Corn Growers Association and Iowa Corn Promotion Board.

I wanted to know if public opinion was swaying the Iowa Corn Growers to consider altering and/or changing the Cy-Hawk Trophy it unveiled last Friday at the Iowa State Fair.

She said a press release was forthcoming later today, but did say there will be a press conference Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Des Moines to discuss “what’s going on with the trophy.”

“We digested all the negative and positive feedback,” Williamson said. “It was overwhelming. That’s why we’re calling the press conference.”
