Misc Question for you men - Page 2

Got an area reserved at my dad's favorite sports bar, and I have some guys at the post office helpig me spread the word about his surprise. I've got my uncle, aunt, and one of my cousins coming so far, too. I got him a Chiefs Safari Hat, but he knows he's getting that since it's the only thing he's asked for.

Surfing online. Looked at the complete MASH series on DVD, and looked at MacGyver as well. Still surfing and thinking of ideas for something that he doesn't know he's getting.

Oh, and I have a slightly higher budget. Looking at about $150 or so.

It's more than just your nails. They soak your feet, massage them, get rid of dead skin, etc.

I think you typically can't go wrong with something related to whatever one of their favorite hobbies are. If all he really does for his on enjoyment is sports stuff, then get him something sports related.

Add me to the massage not being the best idea. He might would enjoy it, but would probably still have a WTF look on his face that he tries to hide when he realizes what you gave him.

FYP. And as a mailman, he would be cursing his ass off the next day he worked when those hard earned calluses are gone and he has to start all over with the blisters the next day he worked.

A rub down is a good idea if your Dad is into it. Has he ever had a massage? My Pops is 63 and while he works his ass off and could probably use a massage, I'm not sure he would be overly enthused about receiving one for his birthday.

You're a writer. Write your dad an epic poem or a story about his life. Be subtle and ask him some questions about his past, his boyhood, his favorite memories, and then write a poem or a story about him. I can assure you, he'd absolutely love it.

Roll the poem up and tie it with a red ribbon. Place next to a bottle of 50-year old scotch and he'll remember this moment for as long as he lives.

I'm looking at less then $100. I could do a little more, but my KC vacation money at the end of the month comes out of the same paycheck.

if he has even been interested in cigars etc, get him a nice starter set up? I had been interested for years in getting a basic set up, but knew nothing about it. Finally did it though.

I got a traveling humidor that's air tight and water tight and holds about 15 sticks for $18. spent a few bucks on a good lighter for $30 and a basic guillatine (sp?) cutter. stocked it with a few cigars; added some humidity packet things (didn't even know they existed) for $1 each that will last for about 2 months-ish. Now I have cigars at my disposal; ones that aren't all dry and nasty etc.

I've really enjoyed it over the past few months trying new cigars etc.

dunno...maybe an idea for you.
