He's a 1st round pick. He has to have talent. Maybe he's matured and learned how to be a starting QB while holding the clipboard? He has better mobility than Cassel. He has a much better arm than Cassel. I'll bet he has better accuracy than Cassel. He needs to have better decision making and leadership than Cassel, which won't take much. That's a pretty low bar. Can Quinn shock the world and become a worthy starter? We can wish, can't we? I think the odds are 1 in 765.... maybe 764.

I think the Chiefs ought to start him for about three years before making up their minds. You can't act rashly in these situations.

If they'd just get him some receivers and an O-line and a running game and some tight ends he would be great. That'll take at least 3 drafts, though.

Only after paying him $30M, IMO.

Really, it is the only fair thing to do. Quinn has been really helpful in helping Daboll in relaying to him what tendencies, personnel, and down/distance occur throughout the course of the game. That is pretty taxing work! Personally, I'm not sure $30M/3yrs is enough.

But Cassel does that with virtually every snap so what the hell, the bar's been set VERY low...I dunno if he'd be that must worse or not.

He has the talent. I don't think he was ever given a fair shot or put in a good position to succeed. I'm glad that he is finally getting a chance to showcase his case skills and possibly prove himself on a team that desperately needs help at QB. The timing seems right.

His problems have always been mental. He has just never seemed to come up to NFL speed. The last time I saw him play was in a preseason game for the Broncos. He was sluggish, he would just hold on to the ball and look around, he seemed to take forever in making any kind of decisions.

Quinn might end up playing better than Cassel because he has more talent. There's a reason Quinn was a 1st rounder & Cassel was a 7th rounder & didn't start a game since high school.

But Quinn is what he is, a bad quarterback.

Will he look better with a clean pocket & when put in good passing situations than Cassel does? Probably. But when he faces pressure, he'll probably fail, force shit and make horrible decisions. And he'll probably do that with good protection too.

His accuracy is also terribly inconsistent.
