Offense

Quarterback: Peyton Manning (DEN)

It took a while for him to get going, but the signs are ominous for the rest of the NFL given how Manning has played recently. He’s a real difference-maker in this division.

Running Back: Willis McGahee (DEN)

His renaissance continues. The man with the 10th-most rushing yards in the NFL, also has our fourth-highest rushing grade.

Full Back: Marcel Reece (OAK)

So he’s not your traditional lead blocker. What he offers as a receiver can’t really be ignored.

Tight End: Jacob Tamme (DEN)

While Joel Dreessen has got more early-down work, Tamme has made his presence felt in the passing game.

Wide Receivers: Malcom Floyd (SD) and DeMaryius Thomas (DEN)

While Dwayne Bowe deserves plaudits for how he’s performed with those quarterbacks, and Brandon Stokley has been mighty impressive from the slot, it’s Floyd and Thomas who get the call as our starters. Floyd is drawing more attention than ever before and still making plays, while Thomas has overcome a fumbling problem to strike fear into the hearts of secondaries everywhere.

Tackles: Ryan Clady (DEN) and Orlando Franklin (DEN)

There was some competition at both spots from the Chiefs’ tackles, but ultimately the more successful Broncos edged their peers. Clady, in particular, has stood out — he has given up just two quarterback hits and three hurries all year.

Guards: Zane Beadles (DEN) and Louis Vasquez (SD)

The knock on effect of Peyton Manning coming to town has seen the Denver line looked far more assured. No one illustrates that as much as Beadles. While in San Diego, the team may be struggling but Vasquez (who has always put together streaks of good play) is enjoying one of his longest to date.

Center: Ryan Lilja (KC)

Lilja was playing well at guard before moving to the center spot. How did he respond? Well, he’s made this team hasn’t he.

Defense

Defensive Line: Corey Liuget (SD), Aubrayo Franklin (SD) and Richard Seymour (OAK)

We’ve gone for a 3-4 here so Seymour returns to an end position. Here he is joined by one of the only nose tackles in the league playing halfway decent (Franklin), and the improving Liuget, who looked out of his depth as a rookie but has taken a big step forward this year.

Inside Linebackers: Philip Wheeler (OAK) and Derrick Johnson (KC)

Johnson is starting to find his best form after injuries slowed him at the start of the year. Former Colt Wheeler, on the other hand, has been a revelation and is earning himself a big deal come the end of the year.

Outside Linebackers: Von Miller (DEN) and Justin Houston (KC)

The role Miller was probably born to play. So good at getting to the quarterback and getting off blocks it’s easy to forget he’s been in the league for only a season and a half. Houston, who obviously entered the league as the same time as Miller, as slowly worked himself into one of the league’s most intriguing pass rushers. He gets a lot of pressure, but the Chiefs love dropping him into coverage.

Cornerbacks: Brandon Flowers (KC) and Champ Bailey (DEN)

While Champ looks to be slowing down, he’s still got it in him to match up with a team’s top receiver and limit his impact. Flowers has played better than this, but seems to have been impacted by the Chiefs’ struggles. A fine player, nonetheless.

Safeties: Eric Weddle (SD) and Tyvon Branch (OAK)

Is Weddle the best safety in the game at the moment? The versatile Branch probably disagrees. As strong an area of this team as there is.

Special Teams

Kicker: Ryan Succop (KC)

Punter: Dustin Colquitt (KC)

Returner: Javier Areans (KC)

Special Teamer: Darrell Stuckey (SD)

I really wish we drafted Beadles instead of McCluster.

I get semi-irrate when I've watched him drive Glenn Dorsey all over the field the past two years.

Beadles/Konz/Hudson

would have been our interior offensive line if I was making the draft picks in the second round the past three drafts.

The ST player should be David Bruton for Denver. Everytime I'm forced to watch that crap team that guy is blocking a punt or blowing someone up on coverage.

NFC West: Russell wilson over Alex Smith, no Fitzgerald?

While hype has always followed Davis, this is comfortably the best we’ve ever seen him play. He’s our second-ranked tight end and there isn’t an area of his game that it isn’t impressive.

Wide Receivers: Michael Crabtree, SF and Sidney Rice, SEA

No place for Larry Fitzgerald? That’s what the Arizona offense has done, with the perennial All-Pro only able to catch 57.7% of balls thrown to him. Instead, Crabtree and Rice have taken the opportunities afforded to them with more consistent play.

Tackles: Joe Staley, SF and Anthony Davis, SF

No surprise to see the 49ers’ duo here, though if Russell Okung can cut out the penalties and play the way he has been recently, he may challenge. As far as the 49ers’ tackles are concerned, they are as good as any pair in the league.

Guards: Mike Iupati, SF and Alex Boone, SF

Another clean sweep for the 49ers’ and it’s not hard to see why — Boone and Iupati have mauled their way through many a defensive line. Like their tackle teammates, as good a tandem as any in the league.

Center: Jonathan Goodwin, SF

While Max Unger has impressed, it’s 5-for-5 for the 49ers in that they simply can’t be matched in the NFC West. Goodwin is playing as well as he ever has.

Defense

Defensive Ends: Calais Campbell (ARZ) and Chris Clemons (SEA)

It’s been another fine start for the impressive Campbell; our second ranked 3-4 defensive end on the year. He’s a more rounded player than ever before and it shows. His partner will be Clemons who isn’t the most reliable run defender, but his work as pass rushers includes causing 36 quarterback disruptions.

Defensive Tackle: Brandon Mebane (SEA) and Justin Smith (SF)

It’s cheating a bit to put Smith in at defensive tackle, but he plays there enough. His play has slipped from where it was at the past two years, but he’s still hard to handle. Mebane has been far more dominant (outside of a horrid performance against the 49ers) and already has 19 defensive stops on the year.

Linebackers: Daryl Washington (ARZ), NaVorro Bowman (SF) and Patrick Willis (SF)

What a trio of linebackers this would be. The 49ers duo both made our Mid-Season All Pro Team, and in the process kept Washington out of the lineup. That’s a player who has taken the quarterback down eight times already.

Cornerbacks: Richard Sherman (SEA) and Cortland Finnegan (SL)

While Patrick Peterson started the season off hot, and Tarell Brown is coming off a career game, the consistency of Sherman and Finnegan get them the nod. Sherman, who was also one of our Mid-Season All-Pros, has built on his fine rookie year, while Finnegan hasn’t let getting paid affect his performance.

Safeties: Dashon Goldson (SF) and Kerry Rhodes (ARZ)

Kam Chancellor may feel aggrieved, but Goldson has finally lived up to the hype this year with more consistent play. Meanwhile, Rhodes has started turning in the kind of performances we remember from his earlier Jet days.

Special Teams

Kicker: Greg Zuerlein (SL)

Punter: Andy Lee (SF)

Returner: Leon Washington (SEA)

Special Teamer: Byron Maxwell (SEA)

As far as Im concerned, they can limit Charles to 10 or less carries per game for the rest of the year.

That way, Geno Smith will have an elite running game to help take the pressure off him while he gets up to the speed of the NFL.
