****The Official "Oh Noez, it's the Apocalypse!" Thread. (With Poll!)****

This thread is for everything apocalypse. Zombie, nukes, plague, EMP or whatever. I'm including a poll to see who's prepared and who's screwed. Here's my current inventory:

3 weeks worth of canned goods.
One case of MRE's (on order).
2 Sterno stoves.
12 bottles of propane.
2 Propane heaters. (One for large bottles, one for small)
One month supply of bottled water.

several shotguns, (five of which are interchangeable).
Several large caliber rifles.
3 large caliber muzzle-loaders.
2 .22 caliber rifles.
A lot of ammo. (I'm not telling Obama how much, either).
3 compound bows.
50+ Arrows.
Clothing, sanitary and medical/first aid supplies.
5 tinfoil hats so the Koreans can't read my thoughts.

What's in your stockpile? Anyone else ready for this shit to go down?

There are many instances of people drinking Sterno to become intoxicated. Bluesman Tommy Johnson admitted to the practice in his song Canned Heat Blues recorded in 1928.[3] The practice is said to have become popularized during the Great Depression in hobo camps, or "jungles", when the Sterno would be squeezed through cheesecloth or a sock and the resulting liquid mixed with fruit juice to make "Jungle Juice" or "Squeeze".[4] The 1956 American documentary On the Bowery includes footage of three homeless men straining Sterno cooking fuel to make "squeeze" and then drinking the alcohol. [5] In an article for the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1961, Capt. James H. Shinaberger, MC writes about a study of three people who had suffered methanol poisoning as a result of drinking Sterno. One of the patients, "had been drinking Sterno for about a week and had been in the city prison for 48 hours when severe abdominal pain and vomiting occurred".[6] In December 1963, a rash of 31 deaths in Philadelphia's homeless population were traced to a local store that knowingly sold Sterno to people for them to consume and get drunk.[7]

For the horde of zombies, yes.

- Second-floor apartment with single point of access and sturdy front door
- Eight-foot fiberglas pole, suitable for conversion into pole arm
- Plenty of duct tape for the above
- Heavy leather and chain mesh body armor
- Thick leather helmet with face mask
- Israeli riot shield
- Three-pound ball-peen hammer
- Pakistani fighting knife
- Bowie knife
- Tomahawk
- Sword

For the other scenarios, as it turns out, or when I start getting hungry . . . not so much.

See, I'm not feeling the whole, "Armageddon" type scenario here. I'm thinking its going to be a whole, "As we know it" type of thing. We get smacked with a few EMP's and everyone's back to wind-up phones and they're printing the Sears Roebuck catalogs again.
It'll be a whole "Kevin Costner in a mailman's uniform" type of apocalypse. If that goes down, I'm ready to go. I'll be claimed "Emperor of the Midwest" and then quietly I train my army to take over those wheat-grass loving hippies in Cali.
It'll be great. Sign up now and I'll designate you as head of my "Department of Boobies."

Gonzo, if you want to be pleased daily by a bunch of hairy dudes, go for it. I'll pack along my Lumpy Fun Toy Box, head East, and trade my lovin' for food and shelter.

Oh, and I'm taking my compound bow and some arrows.

WTF else am I going to do?

I do have a few GIFs saved, so that might keep us occupied for a few hours, depending on electricity/my computer isn't destroyed by earthquakes/hurricanes/flood/rhinos/fat girls from restaurants
