I would so prefer to see a pick like this than drafting A. Ware Jr....
Where is Ansah predicted to go in the draft? |

Not a single play made against a BCS opponent. Single blocked most of the game. And this is college.

I agree. This is a high ceiling very low floor pick. No way at 1.1
4.5 sacks in 3 years. Only played occasionally in a non-BCS division his sophomore and Junior years. Madness

Jeebus, the person who made your Ansah "highlight" film must be as bigoted about him as you are about religion... Here's a real highlight film of Ansah's 2012 season against teams like ND (finished 4th, 12-1), Georgia Tech (won ACC Coastal Division), Utah, Boise State (18th, 11-2)... Sorry that BYU didn't play 12 top 20 teams last year. Wait a minute...BYU...He's Mormon..That's what you have such a hard on about him for! Because he's ****ing Mormon! Goddam you are so predictable... |

I like the idea of drafting players with high ceilings rather than high floors.

"not a five tek" ?????? he's playing five tek in those vids. too slow for OLB, or maybe it's his reactionary time. got big long arms for five tek. looks like a mid late first rndr.
here's Phil Savage; INDIANAPOLIS: Ezekial Ansah had never seen football until he moved to the United States five years ago and had not played it until 2010. The defensive linemen/outside linebacker that everyone calls Ziggy has gone from gridiron novice to the NFL Scouting Combine in three seasons. The Ghana native remains a raw talent, but some scouts liken him to New York Giants’ pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul, another latecomer to the sport who’s excelled with size and quickness. Former Browns general manager Phil Savage sees a tremendous upside for the 6-foot-5, 267-pound Ansah, who played at Brigham Young. He watched the 24-year-old dominate the Senior Bowl with seven tackles, 1-1/2 sacks and a forced fumble. He often played as interior linemen for the Cougars, but Ansah is projected as an edge rusher. “Ziggy played in the Senior Bowl and on game day he was absolutely the best player on the field,” said Savage, who serves as the game’s executive director. “He’s got the height, the weight the speed, and I think he’s got more of an instinctive nature than maybe people thought. “Since he’s a foreign-born player, he hadn’t really been the on the field except for two years, but this guy’s got some rare qualities . . . He’s going to run fast, and he’s got strength in his hands, which is a little bit unusual for somebody that doesn’t have much experience in the game.” Ansah is projected as a first or second rounder. Savage could see him rocketing up the draft board. His combine workout is Monday. “His ceiling is as high as anybody here – I’m talking about all 333 players,” Savage said. “But it’s going to take a lot of courage to turn the pick in at a really high level, but I think he’s absolutely in the conversation.”

When you have the first pick, why do you need a smoke screen?

I will be pissed if draft Ansah. Like I was when we drafted Poe last year. For the exact same reasons.

You should almost never draft players who are 24+ with a very high pick. You get two fewer years of his athletic prime. It's just a poor investment.
