David Glass Shitty Facts

Let's compile a list...

1. David Glass, as VP, COO & CEO, helped take @Walmart from around 130 stores in 1976 to over 4000 stores in 2000. He is basically the devil.

2. In 2000, Glass became sole owner of the Royals for $96 million. The Board approved his offer despite a competing bid $120m by Miles Prentice

3. The Royals are now worth nearly $500m. David Glass stands to profit over $400m when he sells... and the fans got 20 losing seasons.

4. Dan Glass is the heir apparent.

Please try to keep them around 140 characters. :-) What shit can we find about him?

How much were tickets back in 2000 when GlASS bought the team?

The last 7 words in #3 are the only thing in your post that makes sense. That is the entire argument against David Glass, and it's a very compelling argument that he is a very bad owner.

#2 and #4 are irrelevant, but the one that is complete nonsense is #1. How does that make him the devil? Is Mark Cuban the devil because he expanded his businesses?

What the Royals are worth, and what someone may pay , are two different things. To my knowledge, glASSES are not looking to sell.

They reportedly have no desire to sell, and why should they. Their investment is making money, and the net worth is increasing exponentially. They are a complete douchebag Family, and have shoveled shit into the mouth's of the fans for two decades. However, they are smart business people, and they know a good deal when they see one.

He is a soulless bastard as an owner, and the fans have EVERY right to bitch. He absolutely needs to fire DM after this season and completely change the way the franchise identifies and develops talent....but he most likely wont. That would take some effort and thinking about winning, which he's really not all that interested in.

Well, you'll have to drive about 200 miles to Bentonville, Arkansas. He doesn't live here. Which is another strike against him. He promised to move to KC when he bought the team. 13 years later, hasn't made good. I don't think I want him living here anyway. Cheapens the neighborhood....

I hope you're not trying to say there are more Royals fans than Cardinals fans.

I never said anything close to that. I was simply remarking that there are a lot of diehard Royals fans out there, who genuinely want to watch the team play and do well. Even if the Cardinals turned into the Royals we'd never catch them... they have a 60-70 year head start and generations of families who grew up across middle America listening to them on KMOX.

I do think some Cardinal fans have the Denver Broncos "we look down on other fans who aren't on our level" thing going on... as proven by your post.

Don't forget to consult baseball reference for the best statistical breakdowns on Royals fail.

tk13, I'm looking at you. You need to be the GoChiefs of this Royals revolution. I spent my last gunpowder on Pioli's shot-ridden corpse.

If anybody would know a minor league atmosphere it would be a resident of San Antonio. That statement is patently absurd. The Royals market like just about every other team in MLB.

Like Carl, Lamar, and Clark/Piholi they just don't have any idea how to accomplish the goal.

I can't hold Glass responsible for this failure. He gave DM the money to revive the minor leagues. Moore failed in drafting/developing.

It's that simple.

Glass will never be held in high esteem. That's ok. He's lorded over the decline and fall. But he's given the money to DM to at least compete. Moore has been the failure these last 5 years.
